Hi I have been running a 450 on my ih 782 for a six years now and it it time for an overhaul. Does anyone have any Info on the correct placement of the large gearbox that is mounted on slotted brackets and a 1/4" guide pin? I would think you want it as close to the housing as possible, so the spline shaft has as much contact with the impeller as possible. I have the manual but they are not talking about that.
I would guess if the belt stays on and in one piece you are good but..
I will get some pictures as I have a few other issues I need to address on both the 450 and the H-42 mainly age and dealing with finding subs for the nla parts. Drive Shafts and gear boxes ugh. Thanks John Sirois
