My apologies if this post has been submitted twice. I replaced the auger belt and our problem persists. The thrower runs great and then plugs. The PTO continues to turn during the plug and at times the auger belt will re-engage and clear the plug before I turn off the PTO. Would belt dressing help?It seems like the auger belt is loose and to my knowledge there is not a way to tighten the auger belt? Any help is much appreciated as we have more snow on the way. Have a grace day and God Bless.

Brad, WELCOME!

We need a bit more info to properly help you. Is there a model number on the snowthrower? Is it a snowthrower = single stage with auger only? Or is it a snowblower = two stage with auger and impeller?

Brad,

Pictures are always great, 1000 words.

I am not up on the later model CC, but from what I see on the inter-web the ST belt drive has a tensioning pulley, correct?

If that is the case it could be a weak (rusty) tension spring, rusty thrower impeller and housing (to much friction). There could be a "glaze" built up on the belt/pulleys and belt dressing would help with that.

Brad M. just say no to belt dressing! all that stuff is sticky, messing and doesn't fix anything. I would check out the tensioner assembly to make sure it isn't sticking and getting hung up
