If the oil drain plug in on the bottom of the engine ? Any tricks to keep the oil off the belts when draining ?

Remove the deck and subframe. Deck needs cleaning and blades sharpened anyway.

Crank seal(s) leakage is fairly common.

Changing oil on my CC102 a nuisance. To do it some on this forum will have you remove the deck....not necessary. I used an EZ oil drain valve (EZ-110) and EZ oil elbow (L-001) NPT 3/8-18, and added a short hose. See my sale ad on Craigslist North Jersey, search Cub Cadet and look for headlights. Page thru the pics and see what I did. You're gonna love it. My oil drain is on the starboard side, if you need a longer hose see Drainzit.

I have set a funnel in the space between the belts, under the drain plug. It catches the oil and directs it into the drain pan.

Welp i took take intake off and exhaust and still couldn't get the newer part with the metal tab over the stud. So i took the stud out and installed it. So if anyone needs to replace yours i would just clean engine and remove the stud and install your new part.

On my CC102 and perhaps all the 100 series tractors, raise the mower up. The two outboard blades are removed with a wrench on the dirty side and a wrench on topside. The middle blade needs a stout nail you insert on the top side spindle by pulling the belt till the nail drops in. Easey peasey. When I didn't know better I had the deck off to blade sharpen. What a freakin' nuisance.

Harbor Freight has a fluid extractor. A 1/4 inch line goes down the dipstick tube and the oil is sucked out.
The down side is the thing is $100, but if you want to change oil with no mess, it is a way to go.
