I fired up the 1711 for the first time since last Fall. It smoked a little, as usual. This time the smoke didn't clear. It eventually died. I couldn't get it to start again. Coil is providing plenty of fire. I noticed the oil level rose and smells like gas. Gas seems to be leaking out of the front and rear crankshaft seals. Any ideas as to what has happened and what it will take to repair? Grass is getting tall!

Check your fuel pump sounds like the diagraphm in side is leaking,it happens. It is a pain to get the pump off but that is the only place it can get in,the carb is lower than the manifold so if it leaked it would drain out on the motor.

Thanks, Michael. would that keep the engine from starting at all? It seems as though it's not getting fire, but I've already checked for that.
