It's camping season and just sent the kids back to school. Some of us have lives as well as Cubs.

Harry at it again...

Just couldn't let it die a natural death.... (grin)(poke)

Harry, Gerry: (Say that fast).

He's still earning his keep. 84.3 hours on the K341. Got the tri-ribs on the front, 4 new Heim joints (they're longer that the originals, so some readjustment is involved). Found and painted a better hood and headlight bezel and all the lights work. Cork gasket needs replacing this winter, so he deserves the Yard Harley decal on the seat.

A 1989 CCC 1811 snuck in here and was stealing Andy's hours so I took it to OxBow and left it for my little sister to use.

Harry: I keep a little elementary school protractor around for just such occasions. If you can get a square and a straight edge on the side, you should be able to get a physical measurement of the "rise" as well as verify the height/depth of the front bend relative to the front bend. With the "rise" and either the "run" or the hypotenuse, I can tell you what the angle is.

As far as making the piece, getting an accurate overall measurement of the finished piece and a confidence of the initial flat size is probably the most important thing, along with a good idea of where to locate the bends. Although I suppose I could start the bends at the front and cut the back off where it seems right at the rear, over the head.

Edit 1: The piece may well lie flat, we're only talking the difference of 1/8" in the calculated height based on "eyeball" measurements (a little over one metal thickness, assuming 14 GA material).

Edit 2: Before 7 am I'm up late; after 7 am I'm up early. (I'm working the evening shift -- 2 pm to 11 pm).

Psst! Jeremiah - you posted on the wrong thread.

Gerry - none of these units die a natural death, they just have a component failure, see my signature line.

Frank - need a few more pics of the tri-ribs. What's this about 1811? Doesn't that go something like "In 1811 took a little trip, down the Mississipp......"

Deestone 4.00-8 4 ply nylon Tube type

The old "H" taught me that automotive type tires suck compared to tri-ribs. Not ready to try the V's, yet.

FEDXed in from Liberty Township, Ohio for $78/pair (including nice cardboard box).

Someone else recently wondered about the looks of the tri-ribs so I've been meaning to post this. Here, they've got about 20# air.

Frank - the pics show the tri-ribs quite nicely but I was wanting to see them on the tractor from a little farther back. (And by the way, your Quick Attach latch is lowered. Have you got a broken spring clip?).

Harry it was fair week last week and that took all my time. I see frank took care of POTD.

Jeff - well if Frank was covering for ya he was slipping up and missing a few days. He was out finding a new hood and of course the new tri-ribs, so I guess as long as it was 169 stuff it was ok. I was thinking tho, he really should clean that grass off his mowing deck before taking pics. In that 1st pic he posted at 7:47AM it looks like he drove thru a hay pile or something. Geez.

Aw, Harry. Further back is so obscure. Give me an elevation, distance, angle, and all those things and I'll get help with working up a hypotenuse for the demention of the situation.

P.S. I know you're here. Where's the pics of yours on its pedestal? I'm looking for pedestal dimentions.

Did you miss the part that said "Andy's earning his keep"?
There's a lot of "me" in this machine and I've been fortunate enough to put $ into it, too. Now he's working and I can foresee that he'll be one of the last ones to leave the property.
God bless Trailer Queens, they have their place and I'm thankful to those who can restore them and keep them in pristine and correct condition. I don't foresee me ever doing that but I may put one of my dumpy Cub Cadet Garden Tractor workers into a parade, someday.

I'll have a POTD after Saturday - My 169's gonna go turn some dirt at a local plow day!

Harry: You're right, I posted on the wrong thread. I know how it happened, but failed to realize it at the time. The browser's "back" button is a dangerous thing if you're not paying strict attention; fat fingers hitting the wrong keys don't help much either.

Frank - mine ain't on no dang pedestal. Mine is similar to a factory prototype, used for pictures and the like, sometimes air-brushed for effect. I actually have pre and posting production features, and post pictures for reference, and provide other details. As such, my unit has to be kept in a well protected area in order to provide these services to others in need - she ain't not trailer queen.

john your not far from me is this a private plow day or is it open to most all?

Harry my dang computor wont let me upload photos or smileys, so untill I get it figured out someone else will need to post 169 POTD

Jeff - It's open to all who would want to come! I emailed ya some directions.

If it's an open event, why not post info here instead of emailing anyone that has to ask?

Sounds and looks like a WFM event back in the day, LOL
