I'm new 2 forums. And I don't know how this posting worx.
I am located in South East Wisconsin
I'm tryn 2 get rid of a 125 in great condition with motor out.
I ½ 2 K301 Kohler's both eat oil & need rebuildn.
I also ½ drivetrain 4 129/149/169 wide frame
Hydro lift with controls. Want 2 find someone that can use items.
I am Keeping My 129 restomod

Kraig - Oh Great One, Keeper of the Photos - are you making that road trip yet?

Robert - since you posted pics of the 125 it's hard to say that it is in "great" condition as you described it. Although the seat might be nice (it's hard to tell if they are any cracks), there is primer around the hood hinge bolts which is sorta a tell tale sign of some previous welding and likely ruined the decals. To me the remainder of the tractor looks pretty average with original rear tires and well worn replaced front tires. So, in my opinion it's a fair to average condition 125 roller with an engine that needs overhaul.
 
Dang it Robert - I never said anything about it needing to go to the scrap yard as junk. There were at least 2 guys that posted interest. Someone will make the trip.

There's 2 ways that "this old Cub Cadet and Scrap Yard belong in the same sentence.
"I took my old Cub Cadet to the Scrap Yard".
I found my old Cub Cadet at the Scrap Yard".
1 makes you say "I wish I hadn't done that".
The other makes you say "Wow! Look what I found at the Scrap Yard."
That said, you can save a trip to the Scrap Yard if you put it out with either a free sign on it or a $50 - $100 sign on it.
 
I have been thinking about making the trip down but have not had time. I hate to see that get scrapped.

I love these & that is Y I was willing 2 give this away & not just scrap it.

When I refurbed My 129, the Refurbishment was about ⅓ the joy derived from having a mint vintage Cub Cadet.

Great Shape 4 a 50 year old tractor is not Factory Showroom

Robert, as I mentioned to you when we spoke on the phone, the earliest I believe I would be able to make a trip to get the 125 and parts would likely be Saturday, September 19th. It's possible that I might be able to make a trip this Saturday, September 12th.

Kraig - Oh Great One, Keeper of the Photos - Sept 19th is a GREAT DAY (my birthday).

Frank - did I ever tell you the story about me getting my 169 at the scrap yard? Yup, cost me a whole $20. The guy told me I was lucky it was still there in the light metal scrap pile. The fenders were cut off at the foot treads with a torch. The steering wheel was twisted to the side like it had been rolled over. The air cleaner cover was missing and the carb was crammed full of sandy soil. I thought the carb would never be useable but I did get it cleaned out and am still using it. This was all pre-internet and took me about 7 years to accumulate all the parts I needed to restore it. Here's a pic of the frame sitting under my deck after I removed the K341A (13fin) engine, and most of the other parts, and then a pic of it refurbed (which included the missing hydraulic lift). Talk about pride and joy!!!

After checking and rechecking my schedule, unfortunately I don't see where I am going to have time to go get the 125 and parts. :( Someone else is going to have to get them. Hopefully someone will.

Those were the days, Kraig and Hydro. Seems hard to keep the enthusiasm going. The 149 that I'm using now came from a junk yard. Burns oil, but for what little use it's getting adding oil is easy. Even "tho it's not the Forum we were used to - what is? I find it still comfortable to check in every day. I, too, found a 169 and although I didn't put much into the tractor itself rebuilding the engine was a wonderful, and expensive trip. It was the thing to do at the time and I'd do it again if I could. That 169 lives in Florida, now. Experience? Priceless! :)
