I’m sure I’ve seen this info somewhere but can’t find it. My 122 is too slow in 1st and too fast in second for mowing grass. Is there a gear set that slows down second gear? Maybe out of a 128?

Check the copies of the operator's manuals, they shop travel speeds in each gear, I think the slowest 2nd gear is 3.2 mph, the fastest is 3.9 mph, and there's one 3.6 or 3.7 mph. The slow 2nd gear is a good mowing gear for tall grass with smaller engines. Once you know what set of 2nd gears you want good luck finding them. My #72 has the 19 tooth fast 2nd gear, 3.9 mph, think my #70 has the slow 2nd, 13 or 14 tooth, 3.2 mph. The slow is not needed as much with a healthy 10 hp engine. I find the fast 2nd gear makes a great plowing gear with added hp too. My 72 plowed O-K with 10 hp, barely plowed with 8 hp, but Flys along with 14 hp.

Dennis, you have a 14 hp 72!?!? Small flywheel?
