Got a model 111 with a transaxle assembly problem. Everything works fine on the tractor, but the previous owner bent/broke something in the gears when he ran it into a wall. It worked for years in 1st & R, (see pic) but then they went out as well. Seems like it would be cheaper and less of a headache to replace the whole transaxle assembly. The local Cub dealer says compatible models are "76, 80, 81, & 1100". There may be others. I have seen a diagram of the 80's transaxle aseembly and it looks different. What kind of problems am I getting myself into? This is my first venture into the used Cadet tractor market.

Trying to take out the transaxle assembly, I am stuck. The four bolts under the seat are out that hold the transaxle. The U-bolts holding the axles to the frame are off. Now I find the disk brake goes thru a hole in the left side of the frame and is the only thing holding the transaxle from coming out. I don't see any way to get this brake off. Suggestions anyone? Service manual help, anyone?

The model 80 is a hydro so that won't fit. Here's some pages from the service manual for the model 76 which should be darn near the same tractor.
