    fire in 1650 shroud

To all.. I rag on this at least once a yr..Cranked up my 1650 after sitting outside for 3 weeks..By the time I got to the garage it was rolling smoke from engine.Scared the heck out of me you can bet!!Then came the unmistakeable aroma of burning mouse residue...Ended up removing all the muffler...

    Found an original

OK,you would be amazed at what the 7hp thru that gearbox will do.I have a '63 70 that's basically the same machine. The biggest negative to what you're asking is traction, chains and added weights help...Do us a favor and restore it no matter what you decide..we will answer all your questions ...

    blades jamb nut stuck

    K. just happened to find this posted" robert bray may 29 2024.."cubcadet spindle repair or replace" If that is your type of bearing it is not what I call a bolt type that just comes down from the top.

    blades jamb nut stuck

    K. many of us have experienced this..A can torch is not enough usually..Worst case is cutting down side of nut with cut off wheel ,then finishing with chisel on an angle..Being careful not to damage threads too bad.If this is a bolt type it's replaceable..

    deer hunting 2024

So far no shots by me because the temp has been too warm to hang a deer for a few days.I process my own. However I have been sitting in the woods quite often.I have a couple decent pics with phone..The single antler used to be a 10 pt but the right side came up missing this week but look close...

Fuel pump or no fuel pump?

Pac,if the tank is higher than carb it should be fine.I have grown fond of the small 12v fuel pumps, they seem to do a fine job. The needle and seat plus float makes a huge difference in operation..

99 Cub Cadet 7300 Grinding noise

    introduction

Larry ,value is open for discussion. Most young folks don't want them(too Old),they were raised in a throw away society:someone recently posted"most of us older folks have no storage left but hate to see them scrapped".. If you did a super rebuild for a 1000 you would have a machine worth 3...

    Monkeying around in Shultzie's garage

Shultzie, somewhere on front cover is a series of numbers.top or side.Under "code" the first 2 numbers will tell you the yr it was built. This only works on B/S..

Hydraulic tee for installing rear ports

Jon, Ive never done it so no answer from me .If you read the following items for sale it clearly stated cub hyds are different fittings but if you are removing cub fittings it at least seems it should work.I would want to be sure of thread size on machine first before ordering parts.

    steering issue for newbies

Gents, one of the things I have learned the hard way about steering issues on the older cubs. The steering box(I call it) located under machine can have a great deal of slop in it based on wear internally.Note pic of "box",the left nut and adjuster control an inside follower that travels as you...

Hydraulic tee for installing rear ports

Jon,you could simply run a hose back to a cylinder (2) and it would work off your handle.Be aware !! Cub hyds use their own fittings, they are not common in hyd repair shops.I've forgotten where I purchased mine but our sponsors should have or know where to acquire. So you have a cub fitting up...

    Monkeying around in Shultzie's garage

Shultze, A few yrs ago I did the same. The larger 196 engine had all hand controls on the side like a briggs.I've put MANY hrs on it ,it has worked super.Every time I use it I turn fuel off and let it run out.Always starts within 2 pulls with choke on...
