Terry D. The 8hp Kohler and later 7 hp Kohlers all had a standard bore of 2.9297/2.9281 (according to my Kohler manual). It's the stroke that differentiated between the two. I don't know the stroke or spec numbers, but I'm sure Paul Bell does and will comment.

Terry D. In my limited experience I've only seen those mounting holes on 8 hp Kohlers. It doesn't mean they weren't on the 7 hp's, but the two I have are on 8 hp and all my 7's don't have them. Maybe someone with more experience will comment.

    Thoughts on a Bead Blaster

Thanks for the input. I'm pretty busy right now but will look into it when I get a chance.

    Thoughts on a Bead Blaster

A buddy of mine is thinking about purchasing a bead blaster and asked my opinion. I know absolutely nothing about them, but told him I'd check with the collective wisdom here and across the street. He's looking at purchasing a 100# outfit from Eastwood (does 80 grit glass beads). Anyone have any...

Terry, BTDT with the stripped setscrews. Try here and see if it helps. I can't over stress how important it is for you to drill really slowly. Hope this helps.

Bill, in addition to what Kraig said, if I recall correctly, the 126 frame has predrilled holes for mounting a hydraulic lift. I know the 122 frame doesn't have them.

Tyler, yes, I made it all. That's 160 pads with 4 holes drilled in each pad. It took a while but I enjoyed it. You can't tell in the picture, but it has "bogie" wheels on it -- 3 on the bottom and one on the top.

Mike F. Thanks for the comments. I don't know how long it took to build, Us old, retired guys don't keep track of our time. We just work on stuff when we feel like it!!!!

I thought I had my winter project finished and ready to wait for warm weather for painting. But, I had it out driving it around when there was a pop, and I lost steering on the left side. I thought I’d just make right turns and get it back into the barn. But there was another...

Richard, I'm a gear drive guy and know absolutely nothing about charge pumps, but it's interesting that you have a catch every seven revolutions and the piece Don posted has 7 lobes. Don't know if there's a connection, but quite a coincidence.

Terry D. You need to pick up a copy of the Farm Collector Show Directory. There's shows all over central and southern Indiana where you can see and meet lots of Cub Cadet owners. And, attend the Lawn and Garden Tractor Extravaganza in Evansville in June. (Lawn and Garden Tractor magazine is...

Chris R., my Mini-560 with a 10 hp engine has a pulley from an Original that works just fine. As long as both crankshafts are the same diameter, I don't see why there would be any problem.

Tom, I know what you're referring to, but, no, I haven't had that much of a problem. With the Cub Cadet in 3rd and popping the clutch, I've had really good luck. And, you have to find that "sweet spot" between the clutch releasing and the brake engaging. I've also started several by letting...

Steve Miller, yes you can push start that Model 100 since it's a gear drive. Of course it will then be running off the battery so it has to have a good charge. That knock can be the front pulley or the front PTO. Either way, that pulley would be a good place to start. Good luck.

Sorry about that; wrong picture. I purchased these from McMaster Carr.

Scott, I don't have any information on the o-rings for the cylinder, but for the shaft seals I use a CR4911 seal. They're small enough you can get two of them in the shaft opening. Just be sure you don't cover the oil return hole if there's one there. For the pump "barrel" I use Hope...

Harry, here's the pictures of my 126 with the hydraulic lift. I had to go out this morning to the Cub shed and take them since I didn't have any on my computer. It's been a long time but I don't think I had to drill the mounting holes. Looking at Scott's picture I think they're already there.

Harry, I have a hydraulic lift on my 126 that I use as my plow tractor. I didn't realize that wasn't an IH option. I guess ignorance is bliss.

Harry, I'm no relation to the Funk G Hybrid. Wish I was; always tell everyone they're the rich ones. Don T. I don't know what tractor that particular clevis, hydraulic system and pump came off. As far as I know, they're all the same. I'm planning to put it on my 4 X 4 Original when I...
