    1512 Muffler

Thanks for your help. I ended up ordering a after market one from CC Specialties along with some other cub parts. Will try welding the old one just as a backup if I have a run in with a tree or large branch. :cubwinker:

    1512 Muffler

Was working the 1512 tonight and noticed some exhaust coming out around the heat shield. Removed the shields and found multiple cracks on the end of the muffler. Before breaking the welder out I wanted to see if anyone has repaired one of these mufflers? Seems like pretty thick metal as...

1811 Cub Cadet hydraulic control valve

I have converted a 782 (single valve) into a 784 (dual valve). 782 is basically the same machine as the 1811. I was able to find the 2 spool valve and needed linkage/arms used from a place in PA. Was a pretty easy swap. The metal hydraulic lines from the pump to the valve are slightly...

    Mower Shaking

The ends of the driveshaft ride in bushings. Carefully check the bushing in the engine mount (below picture) and the bushing by the hydro (in last driveshaft coupler). As well as the two ends of the driveshaft for wear. With your vibration the driveshaft and bushings might be gone. Good luck!

Thanks! Spring ordered! I spent most of the afternoon working on the deck. Did some welding and reinforcement. But like everything one step forward two steps back. Cleaned and regreased the center spindle. Seems like the spindle is missing a cap. The cap that goes just under...

Mower Deck Question 50c Been working on the mower deck. Belt on deck slipping. The other year I had to free up the belt spring tensioner setup. After examining the deck and only finding a slightly tired belt. I will be replacing the belt but am wondering if I should also replace the...

I have finally joined the IH Cub Cadet Section. Just picked up a 104 in pieces. Serial number 265551. Engine smokes, clutch shot but I saved it from the scrap yard! Friend just wanted it gone!

Stung by wasps, hit a stump, hydro gone :/ 1282

Would also suggest cleaning the screen on the engine. From your photo looks like some grass blocking things.

    My new 1572 diesel

Actually that looks like the disconnect clutch and standard rubber flex joints.

1512D Spiral pin on driveshaft keeps fallling out. What should I do?

I had a similar problem on my 1512 and putting the wire seemed to take care of it. Now I wire all my spiral pins.

    My new 1572 diesel

It might be the picture but that roll pin looks bigger in diameter than the normal spiral pin. Also the hole in the driveshaft seems large. I wonder if the PO drilled the bracket and drive shaft for larger pin? So you might have to add a driveshaft bracket to your replacement parts list.

    My new 1572 diesel

Sorry things going down this bad path. Based on the wear up front this is not a recent problem. Almost looks like they put a new bronze bushing onto a bad driveshaft. Would think new driveshaft and new front bronze bushing. I have no suggustions on the pump end (way above my knowledge).

    My new 1572 diesel

Yep. Lots of free space on the front pin (not!). I have a set of roll pin punches I picked up at Sears. I found an old socket that fit the end of the punch. I also had a cheap extension (HF). This extension connects to the socket. Then the socket to the punch. A quick wrap of electrical...

    My new 1572 diesel

If I remember correctly when I had a disconnect clutch on my 1512. You need to remove the front spiral pin. This allows the entire driveshaft to slide forward just enough the clear the back.

    Cyclops side panel plastic repair

I have used that same plastic weld kit on snowmobile hoods. As long as you get the right material it seems to hold really well. The best part is being able to reinforce the repair with stainless steel screening.

    782 Rebirth Started

Well after 1.5 hours of pulling my hair out and with the help of a retired auto mechanic we figured the problem out. Today I started by replacing the condenser. Got out the timing light and multi meter and started to set timing. I tried and tried to set timing using the static method but...

    782 Rebirth Started

Here is a link to a video with the engine running. The link should bring you to two videos. One at idle and one high speed. The knocking doesn't come through in the video. I did check and my timing was off. Will try to set things this morning but also wanted to pick up new condenser to go...
