    There should be three more set screws holding the PTO on. 2 in each hole.

    Flatten the rear cover plate around the bolt holes as much as possible before replacing it. The bolts can warp the plate if over tightened.

    If the lights were factory wired there should be a push pull light switch on the left side of the pedestal.

    It could be a 109 with a 149 dash plate. What color is the hood stripe? Serial number kind code would tell what it was originally built as.

    Just be sure you have the wires connected to the correct terminals or you will be buying another regulator.

    Frozen hydraulic valve.

    Good penetrating oil and patience. I like PB blaster, but others use acetone/auto transmission fluid. Good luck and keep us posted on how it goes.

    If was a replacement engine it probably had a POS Walboro carb with fixed jet on it. If he's lucky he bought a Carter with both adjustable jets. Just my 2 cents.

    Hydro Harry not picking on you. You were the very first guy to help me sort out voltage reg. problems on the old 147 way back in 98 I think. I know it was when Rev. bob N was running things.

    I agree with Charlie on this. The 147 I had for 20 years was my main mow and snowplow or blower tractor and the only thing I ever did was change brushes in the lift motor.

    I'm sorry to call you out on this but nobody knew how much experience you had on this ring issue. Now that you have explained that you have checked all the tolerance measurements I will sit back and try to learn from this rebuild project

    If you are doing this right you would measure the bore as stated in the Kohler service manual to insure getting parts that fit.
