Lucas, I agree with Charlie. This oil and engine temperature discussion is interesting, but I wouldn't worry about what your engine temperature is. If you have a heat problem, you will know it. Why spend the extra money and the extra time finding, buying and then installing an oil temp...

IH did put a 16 hp in the 582 which were gear drive. If IH did anything to lessen the stress on the clutch and drive train, someone else here with more knowledge would have to answer that one.

    Got my first Cub

Andrew, You stole it! That's a great price for a 149. As Dave said, a 149 is an IH built GARDEN tractor, so the proper posting area for it is in the main forum.

For Sale: 123 roller - was repainted a few years ago - looks nice - would make an excellent project. No engine or lift. $100 obo. 10 hp gas tank with fuel sediment bowl - I believe I have the straps also. $40 48 inch pin on deck - Note: this is for the 70/100/71/102/122/123 tractors...

A little off-topic post, but I will bring it back on topic. I went with my pastor yesterday as he bought two Farmall Cubs with some implements, a running and working 1949 and a complete '48 that was split apart. Implements include a disc, plow, two belly mowers (one Woods, one IH), a sickle...

Gary, I'm a mechanical design engineer for a major aerospace company. I started in the mid 80's on a drafting board, using calculators and mylar and ink. What you posted about engineers not caring is absolutely wrong. We did think about the design, how things fit together, about documenting...

    Bye-Bye Mercury

As most here has probably already heard, Ford will kill off the Mercury line. Here's a link to some all-time best Mercury TV commercials, one with Farrah Fawcett and a couple with Jill Wagner. http://www.autoblog.com/2010/06/03/video-homage-best-mercury-commercials-of-all-time/#continued

On those cheap Lowes trailers with the mesh deck, I would put plywood or deck panels down over the mesh - it would strengthen up the trailer significantly. These Cubs are pretty heavy - even the narrow frame ones. But that trailer should handle it.

Is Justin Weaver a member here? I saw him on RFD-TV's "Successful Farming Machinery Show". There was a segment on him and his lawn and garden restoration business. On this segment he had a 1984 782D, a 1975 800 with Pincor generator, a 100 puller and a JD 110, all restored. Anyone see that show?

    Trading Post

I would like to trade for a good running wide frame, QL or 82 series. I would prefer a 128, 129, 149, or any QL or 82 series. I have some narrow frames to offer in trade, a combination of running ones and non-running runs. If interested email for pictures. I'm about 60 miles south of St...

I have nothing but narrow frames here, not counting the two 2000 series I have. I wouldn't mind finding a wide frame, would love to own a 82 series. I wouldn't toss out a QL, but I'm not looking for any either. It seems like when you have the money, you can't find any decent ones. When you...

Lucas, The brochure says approximately 800 lbs including 175 lb operator and full fuel tank. I'm assuming that's with deck also. Rule of thumb is to never pull more weight than your tractor weights, including yourself, any attachments and weights, i.e. wheel weights. You don't want more...

"Terry, you can give your 125 to me I dont have one at all." Lucas, I would, but I have too much money in it - I paid too much for it in the first place. I would have to sell it, but I know I would take a loss, maybe as much as half of what I paid for it. But it's all fixable, I just need...

Kraig, Do you want my 125? It has some gremlins that has develop in it, all fixable I'm sure if I get the time. Right now I'm thinking perfection is 122/123 and 104s!
