Thanks Dennis I was actually thinking of a redrill and tap the head with a larger hole rather than an insert. Substitute a different plug. ANYONE?

Seem to remember (but can't find it through search) an alternative to helicoil head repair. Drill & tap for a different plug. Anyone have the details?

Oh BTW I found a new use for my 169 this weekend... Pulling Wild Roses from my meadow/front yard. Just wrapped a heavy chain with a hook fairly tight around the base at ground level and used a shovel to sever some of the roots. Took the slack out and applied slow steady acceleration and dragged...

My snow blade frame is bent. The triangular tunnel where it pivots is "folding" and tearing . Is this fixable or does anyone have a lead where to get a replacement? THANKS! Tom

Front wheel bearings keep failing. Replacement I've found are my Sears Hardware store are cheap but seem light in duty, looking for a beefier bearing. Any suggestions for a supplier? Heard there's double bearings a source would be helpful. 169 with 3/4 axles.

For those who like Narrow Frames / ZigZags and don't have time to restore their own... There's a nice looking restored 122 on sleazebay ending today just after 12 Noon EDT. It's #230162868211 and in in Ohio. Personally I'm into unrestored workhorse Wideframes. This forum is great and I...

I just LOVE my 169 with the 50" mowing deck! Takes down 3rd year growth Russian Olive trees (1" plus woody stems)scatterred among three feet tall feild grasses. And with my customized mulching plug just chews everything up to an easily mulchable mess. Kraig, No offense in your remarks...

Tom H, I was 1st! Charlie, Man that arm looks painful. Take care! And I can see why you'd want (need) the hydraulic lift. My 2nd 169 has a manual lift that I did'nt see till I got there to pick it up, thought it might be a big problem but not so far although I just picked up a QA42 Thrower...

Charlie & Tim, I used the chain method like you guys did to rip large thorny bushes out of the ground. My 128 just chugged along and out they came without a heavy breath from my trusty Cub. Picking up my new to me 169 (my 2nd) later this week.

Charlie, Not making a puller. It is for a 5 acre yard and a long driveway snowplow. Thought the Iso Mounts were a known problem on the Quietlines. As I understand it mounting with the proper solid spacers makes the tractor stonger.
