    Forward/reverse shaft 149

Looking for #22 in the attached image, IH 106220-C1 forward/reverse shaft for serial numbers above 426000. I have the older clamp style and wanting to upgrade to the newer style. This is what the forward/reverse chrome handle attaches to with the splined end. Looks like I can get the other parts...

    1050 engine mounts

Thanks Jim for the information. It now makes sense as to why they were used up front to stop the shock of the PTO. I will measure this as soon as I can get the other mounts replaced and tightened down. Any idea as to what the torque spec is on these? A fuel fitting is a great idea, but may be a...

    1050 engine mounts

Need some advice on repairing my engine mounts on my 1050. This is not the new LT1050 rather the one that looks like an 82 series. I purchased it used and the lower rubber mounts below the engine frame and the tractor frame were missing. Looks like it uses a total of 8 rubber mounts on the 4...

Questions on sealing the rear cover on my 149. I have had no success putting these plates back on with a new IH gasket and not having them drip slightly. I am putting them on dry and making sure the holes in the plate are true-banged them back on a metal anvil. With all the discussion on...

My wife's 2011 Wrangler Unlimited just did the "death wobble" with only 28K on the odometer. Not fun to say the least. Under warranty it was the steering stabilizer shock that was leaking. She wouldn't drive it anymore after that and we traded it on a new Tahoe. That was expensive!!

Wish someone would make a nice bolt like Charlie sells for a wide frame. Seems like the axle pin loosens up over time and I have to squeeze the axle channel back together. A bolt like that with no threads where the axle rides and the proper length and diameter would be great.

Cub 1050-mid to late 80's model

I am purchasing the tractor! Sunday will be a good day. I have found a guy who will rebuild the parts that came off the tractor. He does pulling tractors and sees a lot of this stuff. Actually he thinks the rebuild will cost around $150-200 with all parts included! I picked this purchase instead...

Cub 1050-mid to late 80's model

I did a little research and the driveshaft/clutch setup is the same as an 1806 and 1050.

Cub 1050-mid to late 80's model

This can be bought for $200 as it sits, maybe a little less hopefully. And as Jeremiah said, maybe the clutch setup can be used from another model to get this going

Cub 1050-mid to late 80's model

Well in that case, does anyone have a good used setup to repair this? Usually I like the older stuff, but this one seems real nice. Looks to have not been stored outside at all with no rust. I would like to save this one from the scrap yard! He has had it advertised and no takers so far.

Cub 1050-mid to late 80's model

Looking to buy this tractor for a friend of mine. It has broken the driveshaft clutch mechanism. Pretty much needs everything between the engine and the rear end. Is it hard to find all these parts? Or on another note, is it worth fixing? The magnum 10 engine runs great and the rest of the...

Has anyone ever looked into a rod that uses bearings like a car for these Cub engines? Seems like it would be a good idea. I have noticed on more than one Cub of mine that they seem to have the Kohler knock at slow speed. I had my 1250 motor bored and the crank turned and it still does it!

Brian- I have had the same trouble on my 1250. Mine was the adjustment on the rods that control the trunion plates. You can adjust the length of these to give more speed in either direction. You probably have too much total speed in forward and not enough in reverse. That made mine very sluggish...

I have for sale a set of 4 powdercoated rims and rear Carlisle Power Trac AG tires 23X8.5X12. These are new tires that I mounted and drove around the yard and that's it!! As I recall, you can't buy this tire in this size anymore. They still have the "Hair" on them. The front rims are the wide...

David C- thank you for the info on the valve lash. I noticed when you rotated the engine that the compression release let go and I had lash. It looks as though the top nut on the adjuster was loose. Tightened it down and the lash is correct. Engine seems to start better than it has. It will...

What is the trick to setting valve clearance on my K321 in my 149? I am there now trying to set the lash at what I think is TDC. it is marked on the flywheel in the window. I rotated the engine backwards to dis-engage the compression release. There is lash on the intake valve, but none on the...
