    My 1450 Refurb Project-Part 3

Good catch, Melody, didn't notice that. I'll switch them today. Wonder if it makes any difference in the ride?

Wayne, I'll try it. No, I didn't do the trunnion repair, it didn't look that bad. May wish I had.

    My 1450 Refurb Project-Part 3

Mike F., Thanks for the kind words. I love the red ones with the twin cylinders. They have the power, the torque, and they purr like a kitten. They are also the later models so they have all of the engineered refinements learned over the years. I just got a 982, which I've been looking for for...

After finishing my 1450 refurb, I have a problem. It goes very fast in forward gear but extremely slow in reverse. What could be wrong?

    My 1450 Refurb Project-Part 3

Wayne, Thanks, and yes it does feel good to finish it. I drove it over to the neighbor I bought it from and his jaw dropped. He bought it used and he used it several years & never knew what it looked like new. Brought his wife out, too. He just stared & stared at it, felt good, I'll do a...

You might want to check out my latest restoration project in the restoration thread. I had to do it in three parts, not sure why. Anyway, I want to thank all of you for helping with my project. Your expertise, know how, and patience made it all possible. Thank You!

    My 1450 Refurb Project-Part 3

PO drilled several holes in the fender assy and tunnel cover which had to be welded up & ground smooth. Painted with rattle cans in the correct IH colors and added new decals. Installed new tires and seat. Finished it today after working on it almost constantly for a year & a half.

    My 1450 Refurb Project-Part 2

Pulled the engine and tore it apart. Bore was good, had to get new piston. Did a complete rebuild replacing parts as needed. Did the cradle modification. Cleaned up and painted the frame, replaced tie rod ends, replaced the cork gsket on the hydro, sanded & painted the wheels.

    My 1450 Refurb Project-Part 1

I purchased this 1450 from my neighbor for $250 back in 2011. Really rough, not running.

Brian W., Thanks, that's what I figured. Got mine from Maple-Hunter also and it did not include the patent decal. It doesn't include any Kohler decals either.

Thanks Kraig, that helps. But I have two questions. 1. It looks like the decal on the r/h side of the tunnel cover is "Important, Do Not Tow". Is that correct? 2. I have a label with my kit that says "release drive" which I think goes on the tunnel cover also. Mine has the auto release check...

Is there a photo somewhere of a 1450 that shows where all the decals go?

What's up with the ammo shortage?

Just got back from the Dallas Gun Show. It was standing room only. The line to get in was two blocks long, never saw so many people. If you didn't understand why there is an ammo shortage, attend one of these. A normal box of 9mm I used to buy for $10 went for $40, anywhere. People were buying...

    50 inch mower deck

My 50C deck for my 982 is missing the belt cover. I know of one that came from a 50 deck from a 1860. Two people have told me they didn't think it would fit, but according to the parts lookup, they are the same. The pictures look the same. Anyone know for sure?

Charlie, You saved me again! I hated the vibration in my 1450 so I followed your ISO installation detailed in Aug. 2012. I set everything loose, real loose. The nuts barely on the bolts and the rag joint bolts loose. Started it up and took about an hour adjusting the carburetor. The vibration...
