    Hello!

Okay, so what's the pecking order for the 86, 169 and 73 in the top 5 rarest Cubs? The 800 is #1 and 126 is #3.

Parts needed for 1961 Cub Cadet hi crop build

The final drive boxes in the picts above are from a Farmall Cub. They will bolt up to your transmission case since the Cub Cadet transmissions were based on the Farmall Cub.

    Oil in hydro fluid

Hytran doesn't evaporate water/moisture but rather suspends it and settles it out on the bottom of the transmission as a gel form. That way it doesn't get into your hydro.

New to me "sad" 782, so I will need lots of help here

The lower heat shroud helps support the upper shroud to keep it from fatigue cracking the sheet metal. It also helps direct the heated cooling air out the front grill.

    1282 engine problems

If you have gas running out of the carb, then you likely have a problem with the float or needle inside the carb. Either the needle is stuck open or a small pinhole has developed in the float allowing fuel to enter in and thereby eliminating its ability to float and flooding your engine.

    Original deck question

I know it is possible to mount an original deck on a 70/100 as I've seen a picture or two but unsure if the mounting brackets are all the same. I'm sure some of the other experts will chime in.

    782 rear axle swap

Hope the ends of your bolts and self locking nuts holding the ring gear will clear the side wall ribs of your transmission housing! There's a reason why they used scrivets at the factory.

    149 Hydro Speed lever Removal

I did a variation on Kraig's method. With the tunnel cover removed. I disconnected the hydro tie rod linkage ball joint and removed the two bolts attaching the hydro lever splined shaft assy to the frame. This allowed me to move hydro lever assy up/down and you can spray penetrating oil on the...

    1650 hydraulics

Michael, Most likely reason your having trouble getting the neutral position adjusted properly is due to wear in the trunnion arm slot on your hydro pump. It likely has wear at each end that needs to be addressed by welding and the two springs and tabs replaced. See the FAQ link. Cub Cadet...

    IH Outdoor Power Products Symbol

Kraig, The picture doesn't appear to have made it.

    IH Outdoor Power Products Symbol

Did IH ever have a symbol for Cub Cadets/Outdoor Power Products that they used on the tall IH dealer Pylon Signs that dealers had out in front of their dealerships back in the 70's - early 80's to help identify the products they sold? For example the tractor symbol signified that the dealer...

    IH 782 Cub CADET

Do you have the IH Hubcaps that would have come with it when new?

    Here's a long shot question!

Charlie, Generally IH part numbers ending with the -Rxx suffix (e.g. XXXXXX-R1, R2, R91...) had six digits preceding it. Five digit part numbers typically ended with a -Cx (e.g. YYYYY-C1, C91suffix), at least on the Ag side. I'm not saying that five digit Rx part numbers didn't exist, just...

    Mower Shaking

I believe the engine on your 1282 is isomounted similar to the Quietline series. There are rubber mounts that wear out from many years of use and need to be replaced. When the mounts wear out, it allows your single cylinder 12 hp Kohler to move around and the engine vibration is transmitted...

    wanted a mower deck

The 44C Mower decks were actually for the 82 Series as the center drive pulley is set up for a 5/8" wide belt. You can mount the 44C on a 129 but will need to move the LH front hanger hook over to the outer hole to fit your subframe, if you have the mule drive and hunchback subframe, and get a...

    Solid mount specs

Welcome 77cub, You've come to the right place to ask questions about your Cub Cadet. Cub Cadet Specialties (hint: see boxes at the top of the page) can fix your 1200 right up with a new set of rubber mounts. They even have a set of 8 that are better than OEM. Look under the Hydro Parts box...

    Serial number lookup

Doug, Try this link as it will answer your questions. http://cubfaq.com/kindcodes.html This is in the FAQ section. PS: I think you may have added an extra "5" in your Serial number. I think it is 2050038U389761. The 205 indicates it a Cub Cadet and the 0038 makes it a 107.

Kraig, Thanks for the clarification on the indexing. I couldn't remember which way was the correct orientation but I know its important.

    QA42A Snowthrower Refurbish

Greg, Make sure the universal joint drive shaft b/t your gear box and the chain drive input is properly assembled as well. I think the joints are suppose to be offset 90-degrees or bad things happen. Not that it may have caused the broken teeth on your gear but just something to check and...

    vintage IH cub cadet videos

Robert, All IH Cub Cadets (NF and WF models) were produced at IH's Louisville, KY plant until IH sold Cub Cadet to MTD in 1981. Farmington Implement Co. has several DVD's that contain IH commercials of Cub Cadets in action but I don't recall any of them showing production inside the Louisville...
