    Belt size needed.

As Matt said that deck number is a 48" deck. I'm guessing when you look at the FAQ chart it's skewed and you can't really tell which belt you really need so here's what's on the chart for 48" deck. Part No.IH-489397-R3, 3/8"x75-1/2". Now, to be exactly sure of the deck I'd remove it, flip it...

1450 spreading 400 lbs of manure

Yah, I get that looking at it. Almost like when it's empty it could really lift your tractor because of the weight at the rear. I'd be a little more comfortable if you had some rear weights on the tractor to hold it down. Sorry about the jury-rigged tractor repairs, but I realize sometimes ya...

1450 spreading 400 lbs of manure

Dang, 800# . Now that's a lot on the drawbar. Interesting the spreader gets the ag tires but the tractor gets turf.

    Cub Cadet 125 Demonstrator??

Makes you wonder if the original had the corrosion inhibitor and they went back to including it.

1450 spreading 400 lbs of manure

I came back to look at your pics again. You do have a nice 1450 there that's probably having another double digit birthday soon, but it looks like it's only 6 or 7. Nice maintenance. One thing I did wonder about. How do you know it's 400# of manure?

Q: Wide frame chassis. Gear driven vs hydro.

That's why I clarified it. In my first post I was thinking of the narrow frame set up. Then a bell rang and I remembered that brace across the frame which isn't part of the pedestal. Guess I just didn't state it right. One thing I know you're right about is - I'm slippin'. Once you got 7...

    Cub Cadet 125 Demonstrator??

Well Matt, there was a second yellow noted as 483B for a limited number of serial numbers, but no one seems to have researched exactly what it was and no cross referencing numbers show up. It's on the paint chart you linked. Probably had some more active lead ingredient to help it stick since...

Q: Wide frame chassis. Gear driven vs hydro.

Well, as LPalma points out I didn't mention a difference in brake pedal clutch components. I was going from memory and he used the parts lookup. But he didn't clarify the dash pedestal I wasn't sure about. I remember now there's a bracket bolted across the frame for the clutch lever to hang...

    Belt size needed.

There's a chart available in the Cub Cadet FAQ thread that lists this belt for your 127 PTO to 42" deck, part no. IH-490489-R2 which is 3/8"x80".

Q: Wide frame chassis. Gear driven vs hydro.

Never quite heard of someone refer to these having a chassis, so I'll try to address what's the same and what's different. Obviously you know the tranny rearend is different but has a very similar appearance from the back. The frame of a 128 and 169 is exactly the same. The hood, lower and...

    Cub Cadet 125 Demonstrator??

Really doubt it was a demonstrator. The white and the decal look newer than the rest of the tractor.

Wow - welcome to the Forum. That 95 looks terrific. You have a No.2 cart to boot, with it. Never seen one painted red.

Part ordered for my lathe departs on countrywide tour!!

When I lived in CT the company I worked for had a broker that worked with Customs in NY. If there is no broker it will sit in Customs forever, and then just a little bit longer.

Not sure the PO cut it off. Here's a pic of what it looks like new. https://www.ccspecialties.org/pics/kh-235692 elbow.jpg Doubt you really need to remove the old one. Is it hard to remove? Sometimes. Just depends. You can see the nut on the new one, that holds it in place. If you can...

Hello all, recently aquired a Cub 72, model number K301A . just trying to pin down mfg date? any help would be great.

You can use this FAQ to help find your tag. http://cubfaq.com/serialnumbers.html

I had a look at the 3 pics of the thrower. It generally looks pretty good from what I can see. I wouldn't say attaching it is really difficult. Ideally you would store it on a dolly so you can just roll it up to the front of the tractor and connect it to the Quick Attach (it basically...

Hello all, recently aquired a Cub 72, model number K301A . just trying to pin down mfg date? any help would be great.

K301A is a 12hp Kohler. It would have come in a model 124 or 125 at the time your model 72 was built. If you want to figure out when your model 72 was built you'll have to find the tag on the tractor rearend, or it may be just a stamping on the side of the rearend housing.

Does seem like it was taken care of pretty well according to the records you identified. Only things I have a little concern with are the later dealer services. Most dealers never see these units any more and most of their parts lists show stuff NLA. So they just don't do stuff, and many...

20 years ago I used to say the tranny rearend was bullet proof, and the engine was close. They have now made it to roughly 50+ years and some tranny problems have started showing up. Mostly trunnion stuff that fairly easily addressed. Engine problems do now as well but overhauling has become...
