    Work begins on 104

Bernie - It's normal in my garage, since I didn't remove the cam. Kind of a pain to have to adjust the nuts, but that's what I did. Also a pain getting it back together (getting the keepers in place) with old arthritic fingers in that crowded little recess, but that just made it more...

You may even end up inspiring me to dig my 147 out of storage in a friend's barn!

    147 Project

You're right about that oil not being very pretty! Nice progress so far. Thanks for sharing & posting pics - keep 'em coming.

    Second Spindle This Year

Mike - Matt & Ed are right. The single dashed line below the washer indicate the keyway in the shaft. The double dashed lines above the washer show the key in the keyway. Thanks to Kraig, or whichever moderator rotated the diagram. I agree with Gordon, it's hard for this old man to see it...

    Pre paint prep

Just make sure it's clean & free of dust/debris. I wiped mine down lightly with lacquer thinner before priming.

    Mower Deck Issue

Wayne, maybe it's just an optical illusion in the deck pic, but it appears the brackets are bent outward. It's not likely, since they are so beefy, but if they are bent outward it could allow enough play between the brackets and the sub-frame for the sub-frame lift arms to slip off the pins...

    Cubs to repair

Vince - sorry to hear about your bad fortune. We had 5.5" here, but we're on high ground, so no damage. Hope you get everything dried out again, soon.

So, maybe I'm NOT losing it after all! Sweet. Thanks for letting me know, Kraig. And, for your efforts at keeping this place as orderly as possible. Makes it a lot easier to go back and find things without doing an actual Search.

Oops. You ARE in the right area. Guess I got lost, thinking I was still in the technical questions area. It's tough to get old!

    Mower ID Number

Skip - Your post should really be in the "IH Cub Cadet Tractor Forum" area, a couple lines down on the main page. You'll have a lot more folks seeing it there, as some may not read this Technical questions area (it's intended for questions about the forum software, etc). My understanding...

    Unknown Cub Cadet With Problems

Welcome, Colton. I think you may be right about it being a 122 - it looks like there's a silhouette of a second 2 that's peeled off. I don't know anything about that model, but you've definitely found the right place for information, answers, manuals, parts-lookup, photos, FAQs, etc. There's...
