    1996 Chevy K1500 Ext Cab

I'm surprised nobody else brought this up yet... biggest problem I see is it's a Chevy! (Sorry, couldn't help myself...)

    Sprayer rebuild

Dennis, are you spraying vegetation killer around the trees and shrubs? If so, have you had any ill effect to the trees or shrubs? I have several young plantings that I am tired of weed-whipping around, but fear I may harm with round-up or similar.

    Built from the junck pile

That takes the term "previous owner modification" to a whole new level! (No pun intended)

I'm looking for the hydraulic lift supply line for my 1811. While using "Blunier ramming speed" on the last heavy snowfall this year, I had a flex coupling tear apart and then the driveshaft wrapped the supply line around itself. My line (should) look like the one in the picture shown...

A man and women got married the weekend before Easter. In the hotel room on the night of the wedding, the man tells his beautiful bride that he is terribly sorry but they can't consummate the marriage that night. The bride, more than a little peeved, asks why not. "Well, it's Lent..." he...

    Sunrise and Sunset Photos

Here's a couple that my oldest daughter took last year for her 4-H photography project. This is looking towards Chicago into the sunset from the south end of Lake Michigan - Indiana Dunes State Park.

    Got Linux?

Dual boot is one way to approach the "where's my favorite program" blues. However, it reminds me so much of the golden days of computing - DOS 6.22 and Windows 3.1 Had to open Windows to run the word processor (the only decent windows app at the time) then drop back out to DOS for CAD and/or...

    Got Linux?

Bruce, The only thing holding me back from taking the plunge at home is the lack of a Linux version of Quicken. I know there are work-a-likes, but none I've tried so far work "like" Quicken. Has anyone had any luck using Wine to run select Windows programs in Linux? Oh yeah, I'd like to...

This is a tale of three mower decks - the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. The Good deck is a 44C with no rust-through, just some surface rust and tight, quiet spindles. $125.00 The Bad deck is a 50C that has rust-through, dents, and one runner missing. The left spindle turns free...

    Feldmann TurfVent aerator

Thanks for the comments guys. I'll have to determine, through trial & error, just how much weight I need to stack on it to pull plugs from the lawn. It's pretty heavy on it's own, but I know I'll need some more weight as my lawn is mostly heavy clay. Kraig - Of course it's well built - its...

    Feldmann TurfVent aerator

I seldom get to do "look what followed me home" posts, so I'll take any chance I get. Stumbled upon this at a garage sale this weekend. Looks to be built a whole lot heavier-duty than Agri-Fab and other similar units. Just to stay a little on-topic, I'm going to pull this with my 1811.

Anybody find a steering wheel spinner knob that works on the deep dish 82 series steering wheels? I've tried one that just clamps the rim, but it won't "stay put" for me in use. One I got at TSC that clamps on the spoke as well as the rim holds still, but needs serious shimming to be...

    Ford trucks anyone????

I had one of those Fords with a 460 - a 1978 F150 Lariat. Got into a lot of trouble with that truck, it just wanted to go! Oh yeah, 460 = 10MPG loaded, empty, driven like a madman, driven like an old lady - didn't matter. Thank God gas was only 89 cents/gal at the time... Kevin

Pull Behind Trailers -- Got any Pointers?

I second Stephen's recommendation for the Rubbermaid cart. I have the 15 cu. ft. model and have abused the heck out of it. I've had it for six years and it still looks great and is holding up fine. I did have to put air in one of the tires this year though.

    China!

Richard hit the nail on the head. "Domestic" automakers have been quietly pushing production into Mexico and Canada and God knows where else for years while banging the "built American tough" drum. In fact, the Honda Accord has more American-sourced content (70%) than several Fords and GM...

    1810 PTO Clutch

Wayne, Glad you found the problem. Mine isn't sensitive enough to cause problems on level ground. However, when I "one cheek it" on a side hill, it is prone to cutting out. Far be it from me to condone bypassing a safety device, but it sounds like you've already fixed your problem...

    1810 PTO Clutch

Wayne, I've found on my 'new-to-me' 1811 that the seat safety switch is much more sensitive than the one on my 582. The "go over rough terrain such as a tree root or other bump" is what made me think you might want to consider that possibility...

    Techie Talk

Ken, Yep, it is a wireless connection. I won't swear that the wireless isn't the problem, but I can successfully connect to the home network wirelessly and rock-solid. Terry, The server is in the corporate office. Open VPN is the "officially" sanctioned method of connecting to the office...

    Techie Talk

Anybody here an OpenVPN expert? If so, I can post the config files and log files so you can help me out. I can connect to the VPN fine from a public WiFi spot, but from my home network the connection is made then broken, then made then... you get the picture. I believe that the problem...
