    IH Cub Cadet 70

Do another hone job with new stones before you go the cylinder boring route.

    Sprayers and weed control

Round Up makes a weed killer that says on the label, "Kills Weeds, Won't Harm Lawns". Seems to work great. They have a spray wand that takes AA batteries and it sure beats the "pump up" type. Just store it all someplace dry so the batts won't corrode over time, or remove the batts over the...

IH CC 982 Oil Drain Plug

What I would do is bite the bullet, remove the drain plug and take it with you to the parts store, to compare it to any replacement plug they may have. They should also have a selection of crush washers to use as a gasket. If all else fails, a well-fitting pure copper washer would work if you...

    Cub Cadet 108

Have you taken the case off the VR to examine the points? I had this issue on a Cadet 100 about 15 years ago, and one set of points was semi welded together....I forget which ones.

Question for the Narrow Frame Experts

If you have an excessive angle between a pulley and a belt, the pulley can either grab the belt and throw it off, or rapidly wear one side of the belt, ruining it. Same applies to deck pullies and belts. For this mule drive, I'd replace both pullies and the pully shaft!

    PTO Clutch set screws

FYI, I have a complete PTO clutch assembly from a Cadet 100, with new clutch lining, all cleaned and assembled, ready to rock and roll. No set screws, though. Can send a picture if you want.

First thing I'd do is get rid of those v-bar front tires!

Help identifying model year of a 782

If the 782 is yellow and white, it's definitely a later model made by Cub Cadet Corporation, not IHC.

    Definitely. Post a few!

Help identifying model year of a 782

It's a 782? Then it can't be a 1960 model! Only the Original was produced then.

    782 Restore paint

Careful! Paint can caps are notorious for not actually being the same color as the cured paint!

Part ordered for my lathe departs on countrywide tour!!

I had a similar thing happen last year. The ignition coil on my Cadet 782 quit cold. I searched the internet and found twin-tower coils were screamingly expensive, then found one at a reasonable price on E-Bay, and ordered it. A week later I got an email saying my order was ready for...

    782 Restore paint

I got a Cadet 782 at auction last year, and the paint was in decent shape, except for on the hood. I scuff sanded it with a "jitterbug", primed it with gray automotive primer, and sprayed it with rattle cans of Rustoleum IH Red that I got at Tractor Supply. Once dry, the hood matched the rest...

Good Source for K241 Engine Parts

Parts Tree and Jack's Small Engines are two decent sources.

NAPA premium hydraulic fluid is advertised as meets both John Deere and IH/Hytran specifications.

Wanting to do engine oil & filter? change for my October 1964 IH Cub Cadet 100 with 10hp Kohler engine.

There's a fellow in western NY right now with a message saying "Cadet 100 wanted".
