Kevin D. Thanks for the info on the 292 bagger. Is there an online install manual for that somewhere. Do you think it could be adapted to a 44" deck on a 149. My guess is that powering the fan assist may well be the problem.

Found a CC bagger model "292" with fan assist. The fan assist appears to be belt driven. Is any one familiar with what deck this will fit? How is this thing driven? a pulley change on the deck to add a third pulley?

Richard C. I'll go back in and adjust the spring length. Now I just may not know what smoooth operation is. I would say that the operation is immediate. Moving the lever the least amount results in speed and movement changes. Here in I guess lies the problem. It just seems to me that...

A couple of weeks ago I was working on the 149's hydro linkages to correct the speed control problems I have been having. I compared the bracket and linkage dimensions to the drawings in FAQ and found them to be only slightly worn but the larger spring was 1/4 to 1/2 inch shorter than the slot...

Dale Reid In an earlier post you asked about cleaning up grease and goop on your snow blower. I recommend any one of the readily available purple cleaners available at Advance, Auto Zone, and Pep Boys. My first hobby, my VW based dune buggy has me looking for aluminum safe degreasers...

With all the talk about baggers and vacs my question is this. How difficult would it be to graft a current bagger on to a 149. I'm sure I can handle mounting it on the rear but what fabbing a chute for the deck discharge. Any special considerations. Will the grass have enough velocity to...

Kraig and others, Thanks for the advice on the axle beam. I think I'll try the bolt trick but it looks like a project for this winter. I think I may need to raise up the motor to remove/install a bolt. I'll check the timing (if it's adjustable). It makes perfect sense that that could be the...

I've had my 149 for a summer now and have slew of questions that have built up since taking ownership. 1. During startup it seems to have some preignition problems. While cranking the engine will lurch and stop turning and then start turning again. Once started, no problem. What gives...

Fred Morski, You asked about some carb cleaners. I once found some stuff called Tyme at my local Big A/ Carquest. It worked great for some VW carbs I was rebuilding. I did not even need to agitate the parts. Just soak and they came out clean. Then I rinsed them with water and blew them...

Thanks for the link to Johnny Products. It looks like their bucket may be just what I'm looking for. Are there any other products I should consider before buying.

Charlie "Digger" Thanks for the feed back on the 149. What's the difference in the 1450? Just a later model? And then what about a front bucket? Still available or wishful thinking? Chuck

I'm a new member who recently acquired a 149. I grew up on a 104. 2 questions. 1) A post I read earlier did not speak so highly of the 149. why??? 2) Does anybody still make a front bucket assembly or are these somewhat available at a swap meet for not too much money. Chuck
