Ethan: It's factory. It's a safety switch that's evidently been bypassed. It's meant to keep the engine from starting with the PTO engaged.

R.I.P. Jerry "Nines are wild" Harvey. We enjoyed your posts for 15 years. Not sure if we ever found out where your tag line came from.

1970 IH Cub Cadet 73 revival

Sam: This IS the trouble shooting forum! You'll learn a lot by checking new posts daily, if you have the time. This schematic comes from the TOPICS section under WIRING DIAGRAMS. Thanks, again, to Roland Bedell! I'll be watching this thread. Today our ATV club had a poker run and...

1970 IH Cub Cadet 73 revival

It should look like this when you find it: You've got a great looking 73! Not every day we see a tire that's honestly flat on top!

1970 IH Cub Cadet 73 revival

Sam: That's a safety switch located underneath the tractor. If you can get someone to press and release the clutch/brake pedal while you watch how things work down there you should see a normally open switch that closes when the pedal is depressed. It's just a simple 2-wire switch and easily...

1970 IH Cub Cadet 73 revival

Welcome, Sam! I'm not here to hijack your thread, but I'm pretty happy with this 73. The blue/black decals are my favorite combination. I'll be darned, it won't let me post a pic.

Welcome, Keith S. Your seat pic got eaten by The Archive Bug. It does that to the last pic on each page. Most of us have met it - even the owner of the forum! Did you find a creeper gear for your 122?

Thanks, Earl. It began life as a 100 and I have the hood/grille parts that came with it. Tonight I'm thinking stock class puller. That's my problem with these old Cub Cadets - once they're here I don't want them to leave. "everybody needs a little job".

Happy OTF Friday the 13th! Shipping: I look at shipping as how much do I want something, where is it available, how much would it cost me to go get it.

I can't say any more good things about The Forum than have already been said, so I won't try. It's good to see Grumpy posts. He may have answered one of my early posts. I've missed your posting, Jeremiah, and sorry for your loss. I guess that by now we all know that we have an appointment...

Hmmm, Jeff. I guess I'll have to answer your question with another one: Suppose the lower resistance readings mean that that those coils don't have an internal resistor?

Christopher: That's a beauty! Did you touch up the photo? Break the budget and put the proper steering column and steering wheel on that thing and meet me here this time next year and say "thanks".
