John L. I have the standard 16x650x8 tires on the front of that 682. I am going to fill the rear ones with fluid and lower the pressure somewhere below the current 10 PSI. they probably won't stand up quite so much that way.- dclinansmith

Ed H. You can buy a complete Helicoil kit from Carquest Auto Parts. It should include the tap,helicoils, inserter and some kits even have the correct drill. I can find out the kit # if you need it. John L. Per your request here are a couple pics of the SGT rims on my 682.The center to center distance between the tires is 32 3/4" compared to about 27 3/4" on my 149 and 1650s.I think I am going to like this setup.- dclinansmith

Digger, That pic you posted looks like a great plan, that solution never occured to me.I have plenty of time to work it out since I mow with a 149.I also have a junk deck so I may make that mod to it first just to be sure I don't ruin a good deck.Thanks for the idea,its looking more and more...- dclinansmith

Brent, When I was removing the fore & aft axle play on my 1650s it never even crossed my mind to do what Kraig suggested. I had a few bronze washers in my junk drawer so I used them as shims on both sides of the axle with a new pivot pin and have been pleased with the results.- dclinansmith

Jeff, I had the same carb problem you have and I made some bushings using the same basic procedure Matt G. outlined.
