    100 or 122

+1 vote for the 122. I have a 70, 100, 122 (avatar), and a 169. My all-time favorite is the 122 with creeper. I'll assume this is your first one and offer MY opinion why.... The 100 is nice but tends to be used on easier cleaner jobs or when I want to pull kiddie carts around at engine shows...

Hello from the Florida Panhandle (Tallahassee)

Welcome Floyd, my first was a 70 that I used to cut grass. I had all the parts and came here to this site for advice with belts and mule drive fussing. But then I needed to haul a small trailer with firewood and so I added a ball hitch. But the mower got in the way going through the woods and I...

Creeper Gear for a Cub 100 Help

Hey Gerry. Please post a photo of the gear. I'm doing the same project and always like to see if my old parts are worn to the point of replacement. How chipped is yours and what does the other gear look like? I simply assume it would be chipped as well? I bought my creeper replacement parts from...

    Drive shaft constantly spins CC100

Just a follow up. Oil on the pilot bushing and loosening the engine around did the job!

    Montana

It helps me on long term projects if I take pictures of what it looks like as I disassemble. That way I know if something was done differently when I try to remember how it was when I took it apart. Right or wrong I will have a photo of before and it helps me understand as I put things back...

    Drive shaft constantly spins CC100

The oil is coming from over zealous attempts to keep everything lubricated, long story.

    Drive shaft constantly spins CC100

Found a bushing (IH-376265-R1) but don't understand where it goes. Here in the driving plate (#8)?

    Drive shaft constantly spins CC100

Thanks to all, yes a lot of oil that I need to clean out. The pilot bushing? I'll have to look at where that is, I don't remember. I thought maybe the throw out bearing, but that's separate. Have to dig out my manuals for that specific bushing location.

    Drive shaft constantly spins CC100

Need advice why the drive shaft constantly spins. Photo shows pressure plate pulled away for inspection and engine not running. Tried everything in the book and not quite sure what is going on. Clutch adjustments have been made. One suggestion is the shaft isn't straight into the engine and a...

    Fuel sediment bowl elimination

I vote for sediment bowl as well. The gasket is easy to cut but my troubles always come from getting the packing material to set correctly in the needle valve. My brother then tells me it's because I always close the valve when I'm done for the day. Then I pretend to crank on the little valve...

    Thought I was done

I like that rear coupling but not sure who Jeff is. Please help. Thanks.

    New member

Good for you! Warning: This is how my collection started. Now you'll have extra parts that can be used on yet another find. And I've kept the empty frames to have an engine mount during rebuilds. No room in my garage for the truck anymore and I even had to buy a second fridge to keep my Coke...

    122 Mystery Button

Oh my, a cigarette lighter with the IH logo? I'm gonna have to go look up what that sells for now! Little things like that are kinda addicting for knick-knack shelves. Neat stuff! And very cool photo, thanks for that.

    cub 149 steering

Thanks. I'm wondering if you can get dust covers for the McMaster-Carr heim joint you published above, #2

    cub 149 steering

Does anyone have a good source for those little rubber dust covers on these ball joints. The newer MTD ball joint works well, but no dust cover.

Glad to be here. Cub fever lead to a lucky find.

Wow, glad to hear of your progress. You're gonna need a bigger garage at this pace! Y'know this forum is key to everything I've done in the past five years! Helpful people with lifetime experiences. More pics please 😉

Wish I had room for more cubs

Thanks for posting those prices. I could use more weights (every tractor needs three sets right?), but I think I need to move faster when I see them at $150/set. There are a lot of tractors on Marketplace but sellers think their broken equipment is worth 5x what it's worth. I will keep looking...

    IH Cub Cadet

Neal, can you post a picture where this is installed? Does this replace the key switch?

    Name's Noah

Welcome Noah from Pennsylvania. I think you should also get a model 100, my favorite is the 122, so get one of them too. I bet you will add two more IH cub cadets by the end of summer. And then you'll want a big Cub! This forum has the most subject matter experts you'll find anywhere. Good luck!

    #2 Cart Specs

Thank you, looks like I just need a spare set of fronts from the 122 and a box of cotter pins!
