    124 voltage regulator

The thing to remember is the tractor starter/generator is low output compared to automotive or truck. The regulator has to match the system's capacity. There just isn't the market for major suppliers to our particular application. I've used the Wells line of regulators for Delco 10dn...

How to bring back the paint shine on an 1863

I've had very good success with 3M's Rubbing Compound. It cuts though the oxidized paint and can really bring the luster out hiding underneath.

Carter #26 style carb on Ford 302 V8

I believe that'll be in Part 2. You could say it would be a demo on why the Pogue carburetor never took off.

Carter #26 style carb on Ford 302 V8

That made my day! "Motorheads Rule" It's good to see young men take the effort to know what they're doing

Looking at a 1650 today, any issues to look for?

I have a 1650 and I'd say it is the best machine I've owned and used to date Your wife and you will love the effortless speed and Forward / Reverse control i.e. a joystick vs clutch and stick. I do believe the mower deck is one of the quieter ones out there. Top thing from experience is take...

    Batterey Needed

Could go with Milwaukee Fuel. I've seen their chainsaw in action. I tell the wife she could use it on her fruit trees, but I really want it for 4wheel'in

    Batterey Needed

The rule of thumb for DC power needed for an inverter is 1 amp per 10 watts of inverter output. There isn't a garden tractor or starting battery I've seen big enough for that large a draw over extended time let alone a vehicle/engine alternator or generator unless you get into a Delco CS...

    Kirks transdenser K17 true accounts

One thing I've noticed with winter starts, though I'm in the part of Oregon that rarely sees 5*, is summer fuels don't "light off" as well in cold temps. When I have fresh gas bought in January through March, the engine is more responsive. I know that pump fuels are seasonally adjusted, so I...

    Cleaning up a rotary table

Not A-gang. The destroyer had separate engineering spaces, main control where the engine was, and aux 1 where I was with the SSTGs.

    Cleaning up a rotary table

Ha. I was in Auxiliaries where the SSTGs were. The one I took care of I shined all it's copper condensate lines on the lower level. I wasn't too popular after that. The CO liked it so much he commended our LPO. The LPO turned around and made the other guys "shine" the other SSTGs. ;)

    Cleaning up a rotary table

When ScotchBrite 1st came out, we used 68 machine oil and ScotchBrite to clean and shine. Worked on aluminum, steel, and copper. In the Navy it was a neat way to spruce up an engine room. COs for whatever reason loved shiny stuff. Many sins were overlooked when an engine room had shiny stuff...

    Checking RPM

3600 is book value for max OPERATING rpm. That is the specified RPM to use I also use the dancing wire or Sirometer. Quick, easy, done; and you can use it on almost anything without special tools, scopes, or meters.

    Caburetor problem?

What the hail????? Even carb dip pushes the limits for die cast zinc/pot metal/aluminum etc. Berryman's carb dip is the way to go for ALL carb clean'ins as there's little risk of etching precision air mixing or fuel emulsion circuits. It's not what is was in the 60s or 70s but still does...

    CC Specialties

We own several vintage to newer vehicles. More often than not; lately I've been turning on wipers instead of lights or pulling the light switch instead of wipers and the old Scout I have to remember where the foot switch is. Best advice I got from an old electrician was: "never trust a fart"...

    Spray Guns

I've used the HF Pro HVLP spray gun a couple of years ago. For $75 it was ok and did a good job. The cleaning kit, an accessory, makes keeping it in shape easy with little waste.

    ferguson to30 12 volt conversion

Carb without a venturi is as a tire without air. Just chalk it up to a "senior moment". Good sleuthing!!

    1953/54 Farmall Cub?

From a picture view it appears to be a Cub. The ignition coil is not OEM and early ones were positive ground, I don't know when they switched to neg. ground. The S/N shows it to be a 1958 model going on my data book, with a C60 engine and just under 9 drawbar horsepower. I think they were...
