Cub Cadet 1650 - Problem getting the mower deck support clevise on the the frame arm

Edit: What I called "eyebolt?" are clevises. One thing I remembered too is when attaching the Quick Hitch to the rock shaft, one of the support pins that hangs the hitch frame from the tractor is threaded and if it's not adjusted correctly the hitch frame can be out of "level" with the mover...

Cub Cadet 1650 - Problem getting the mower deck support clevise on the the frame arm

What I do is once I get the Quick Hitch frame on, I start the engine to raise it and slide the mower deck underneath, eyeball it for square with the hitch frame then roll it forward. I slightly lower the frame/hitch so the tangs (what the white arrows are pointing at) will glide through the...

New member. Hello & 1250 headlight help needed

Welcome aboard Gary. Yes on the 1/4" spade, in a insulated block. After you like the lights, you might consider going OEM on the switch. I would call factory switches "Severe Duty" as there is vibration in the tractor from drives, mowers, engine, plus being exposed to outdoor conditions and...

    Ammeter ?

New connector, new ignition switch. All wired and functional. At max RPM the voltage regulator shows 14.1-2 V and the battery shows 14 to 14.05 so that's better. The ammeter returns to almost 0 in a minute or less after cranking. All good but; the meter will still go full scale with the...

anti seize on a K block

Slik'um other than oil reduces the bolt torque needed but still gives the required clamp load and gasket crush. For our aluminum heads I think it's important. Here's what the manual sez in the note section:

    coil question and introduction

Shade tree work arounds just complicate things. They make for trouble in trouble shooting.

anti seize on a K block

If they're gett'in hot enough to cause problems, there's an issue of why they got so hot either from a lean fuel mix or crudded cooling fins, or dirty threads.. I learned this on "T" block engines where the exhaust side can really super heat. Personally I say no. If anti-seize other than...

    Cub 1250 keyswitch fried

This must come in 3s. You're the 3rd one in the last month with switch issues. I'm going through mine, gotta one com'in, and one other member has found heat damage on his. Fortunately my wire ends cleaned up nice. Being in the battery charging circuit, it doesn't take much for the steel...

    Ammeter ?

The meter is correctly wired, I can't miss the yellow wire from the load side to the light switch and EngineOffSwitchOn does show a swing to Discharge. Because the ignition switch on the pedestal and the voltage regulator that's on the engine are so recessed, it's hard to get meter probes in...

    Gravely Project

Could be a nice one. My L6 certainly took care of the high stuff.

    1977, 1650 project

Have you been able to run it as is? Looks clean and doesn't seem to have any abuse in it's past. You might have a working tractor that just needs a refresh.

    1977, 1650 project

The ignition switch is the weak link in the circuit for keeping the battery charged. I'm going through this right now as I found resistance in the switch contacts and also discovered heat discolored wire ends. I'm keeping the wiring, the ends cleaned up nice. I have a new connector plug and a...

    1977 International Cub Cadet

Welcome Jerry! I'm an old tool guy myself so any tidbits you can toss us is extra interesting. Nice looking tractor as is. The best I can say is make it a working tractor. Get all the basics 1st as in tune, tire, lube and drive. Any short comings, worn parts, etc. will quickly come to the...

    LEST WE FORGET

Have you come across Clay Blair Jr's "Silent Victory"? It's a very detailed account of submarine warfare in WWll. It's long on history and with some Atlantic but mostly Pacific forays. Aside from the technical problems they faced, I got a seat of the pants in the conning tower drama of what...

    LEST WE FORGET

My Uncle Bill was a Torpedoman's Mate in WWll in subs patrolling the South Pacific and Yellow Sea. He never wanted to talk about anything connected with the war. My grandparents and aunts said he came back a changed man. I tried to get something out of him about his experience being ex-Navy...

    Ammeter ?

Yep, 70s onward onboard electrical systems got more and more loaded. I took this one apart. No apparent mechanical problem. Testing showed it's accurate on the D side, but overly sensitive on the C side. Had I known what I know now, I woulda just swapped conductors.

    Ammeter ?

It's gone bad, only the C side. Never seen one go bad other than the Dodge ones that melted the dash. Got one com'in.

    Ammeter ?

I think it's fine. I could add a shunt down the road if I wanted to. Just looking for what was normal display.

    Ammeter ?

    It's a 1650 Cub with a K341 and hydrostatic; built sometime in 1975.
