1872 SGT NEW TO ME. JUST BOUGHT IT A MONTH AGO.

I always thought IH should have went with red for the Cub Cadets. My favorite paint scheme was the red/white 1964 Farmall Cub, they only made a few but I think it would have looked great on Cub Cadets.

    Montgomery reel mower attachment

Not much info about Montgomery Machine Co. They must not have been in business very long. Looks like they also made a front reel mower for the Simplicity Landlord of the same era. http://www.michaelstractors.com/forum/upload/Mack/200812863349_reel.jpg

    Kohler 12hp-no oil filter?

It's hard to find a definitive answer about synthetic oil in old K series engines but I would think it would be an improvement. https://kohlerpower.com/en/engines/popup-1

Sold Project Cub Cadet Original For Sale $300

Would you mind posting a photo of the Kohler engine tag. It's located on the blower housing. I'm thinking it might be/was a recoil start engine. Thanks, Bill

Where is the engine model number?

The 547cc IntelliPower engine is a Cub Cadet branded engine made in China. It's not a Kohler, Briggs, Kawasaki, etc. I think they only made them for 1 or 2 years.

found another Original, but this one is a 3 digit, hi 600's, Jan 61

Doesn't really matter, they were made 1961-1963, pretty much all the same.

    Parts Wanted Want to buy

I doubt you will find an inexpensive fix. I don't know what a 1650 cost back in the late 70's but it's probably over $10,000 today and you can't find anything equivalent to it.

Perhaps it just needs a carb kit? The Cadet 60 has a Tecumseh V60 engine. The carb kit is Tecumseh # 631029

    Latest Project

Looks very nice. I think they should have been red from the beginning. I see older models painted red or red/white and they look so much better. I guess I'm not a huge fan of yellow. Not many options for seats. Expect to spend 125.00 for one that looks good.

Does your tractor look like this? If so I think many models.

Plan ol' gas cap for 1450 plastic tank

Measure your tank neck. 2-1/4" buttress thread is/was a very common size used on plastic tanks. https://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?itemid=46235&clickid=vrecs-slider

Mike T Mason Oh. and Foster Ky.

I've seen the HVC used on other models as well. Such as the 682. I'm not really convinced on the explanation.
