    1973 Cub Cadet 128 - New Owner

The headlights were an option. They are selling for around $100-$150 nowadays. I think I see a cig lighter there too. Those were an added option also. Not sure of it's value, if it is the original lighter. What is that attached to the bottom of the implement lift lever? It appears to have a wire...

    1973 Cub Cadet 128 - New Owner

Welcome Jared! Looks like someone did a good job refurbishing it. You did not pay too much. A 128 was my first cub, and I spent over 2K fixing it up. Those tires, more than likely cost over $400. Find the frequently asked questions on this site and read through them. That will help you a lot...

That is a cover on the pan seat! ;) Lots of things we could say it needs if we want to get picky, but it looks pretty dog gone good to me. I would say; "it's a keeper!"

No problem raising the hood. Notice the tire in the front. Just unhook the hoist, and roll it out of the way! :roflol: :ROFLMAO:

Do you have a Fastenal store in your area? I have heard a cub could be strapped down on a pallet and shipped through Fastenal to another Fastenal. Not sure what the cost would be though. I could check and find out. Just checked. They do ship from store to store. Would you be willing to ship? Do...

    Clutch bearing Loosened on me

Now you tell me! :errrr: Not that I have worked on a lot of stuff, or that I have looked very hard, but I don't think I have seen lubricated torque specs before. I am sure they are listed somewhere, just not in a auto owner's manual. I do use anti seize a lot at work though.

    14 horse in a 149 leaking oil

Even if that trick did work, it would not work for long. The amount of time spent trying to see if it would work, would be about the same amount (or less) of time it would take to replace the seal. "Don't put a band aid on it, fix it!"

    Clutch bearing Loosened on me

I would not recommend using never seize. Used it on the lugs of my car once, and distorted the metal rims before they torqued to the correct poundage.

Welcome Donnie! David is right. Do your studying, and in no time you will have that 128 running good again. Only thing I could add is, just be patient. 👍
