Yep, I'd agree. threads in the head have failed, 2 choices, replace the head (hope you get a good one!) or install an inset to replace the missed / damaged threads. Someone recently had a discussion going on this very topic! Try searching the threads ?!?!? Or look here. Stripped!

    Cub Cadet 1782 Front PTO

Welcome to the site. Love your mower choice! And the drive system too. What are you using for the PTO? Is it factory stock or something more local to your location..??..?? If it's the stock one, have you verified the air gap? It's currently the only thing I can think of that may be causing...

    Smoking Coil

When auto makers went to 12 volt batteries, they didn't change the ignition system except to add resistors as this supplied a more consistant voltage to the ignition when compared to the old standard 6 volt battery system, Mopar used a "block resistor", single at first then dual, Ford used a...

    Becoming a lost skill?

Have you ever seen a Shelby Ram Box for a SBF? I have the complete setup too. On the shelby collectors site we have found 4 documented units complete. With the sideways air cleaner, valve covers too. They all say shelby, not cobra

    Becoming a lost skill?

Both of those are easily overcome. I have a 347 SBF with AOD trans in a 33 Ford 3 window coupe. Piece of cake.

    slow cranking

It sure sounds like it. I guess the easiest check would be to remove the cylinder head and by hand rotate the engine and verify that on the compression stroke, the exhaust valve opens.

RZT 50" deck belt comes off or snaps randomly!

As I said regarding that tab, if it's like ours, there are 2 "bumps" or "dots" that will act as an index so it can only go in one position. If you haven't ordered a replacement part yet, remove the pulley and tab for inspection. Maybe you installed them wrong previously?
