    1st snow challenge 2024

March always gets us. We've been way below normal as well. We always get some snow before Halloween but we are usually full time, white on the ground, from mid November on. When the season is winding down we seem to always get a double digit snowfall in March. One learned that when the...

    106 vs 127 vs 147 Newbie Questions

I may be wrong but getting a 6 ply tire on these 'thin' rims might be very tough.

    1st snow challenge 2024

A few back, when blacktop driveways were the norm, I would not have understood the Frost comment. Now I'm fully aware of the dance that is performed to get low to the ground without putting the stone driveway on the lawn.

    1st snow challenge 2024

No doubt you get more chatter. Maybe some Valve Springs to replace that useless single spring on the seat

    1st snow challenge 2024

Thee ole' 2 link vs 4 link debate. I've had both on the same machine and I'm almost leaning toward the 4 link being better in some scenarios. Driving on sheet of ice where the rubber stops on ice then the chain comes around with more weight per square inch it can cut in better then sitting on...

    1st snow challenge 2024

I'm kind of surprised. With all that added weight on both, I , honestly didn't think you notice any difference.

    Best ignition coil

I've had a very inexpensive Harley dual coil on my k17 782 for years now. Input and output OHMs reading is same as OEM Kohler. The Kohler coils were swelling and cracking the casing every winter. Not sure why they couldn't handle -15F temps. I believe the 149 has a single lung engine

    Monkeying around in Shultzie's garage

Exactly. When I lived on Long Island (lower NY) the snow would come down heavy and wet but the air temp and ground never really got cold for too long. I can see that the Gent from Pearl River probably has that same scenario. So, you can away with Ags. But where I am now, ice cold, hard...

    Kubota glow plug mod questions

Looks like a typical old school Fender Well Starter Solenoid. I used one as an upgrade on my 782 for the starter... '91 Ford Explorer Starter Solenoid

782 Cub Cadet Excessive oil in Air Filter

I'm sure mine is original on my kt17 1st gen. So I'd be looking to get the KH-52-035-02-S. correct? That's a direct bolt on? It just looks larger.

782 Cub Cadet Excessive oil in Air Filter

I have the same issue. I think it's just blow-by as the PO had a shop class rebuild it. When I tart it cold, it definitely smokes until it warms up. I too rerouted the breather to keep oil from gumming up carburetor. Mine pinched off that very flexible hose coming out the Block. I'm hoping...

    Roof painting tips

Got an update from a friend as to what we used. Aztec Roof Coatings Insulated Coating Corp these products might only be sold commercially however, my friendships many folks sell a 'Elastomeric Roof Coating' for Steel roofs

    Roof painting tips

There is a commercial spray/roll on paint that is made to cover and seal metal roofs. It was fast, it kind of clung so you could build it up on some troubled spots. I'll see if I could get the name. The stuff I used came in white.

Walk behind snow blower cab mod for cub

Holes in the hood and the typical fogging issue is probably the only things to overcome. Other then that, the install should work to keep most of the wind and snow mist off.

    K301 rebuild

It sounds like you have the diagram but need help reading it.. Looking at the diagram, it appears the power comes from the AMP gauge with a yellow wire. From there it runs to a fuse (I don't know where it's located) it exits Fuse with yellow wire to switch.. unsure of style or location. It...

    Kubota diesel starter recommendations

I do not know what's on your engine bit the Denso Starters, that are in many 'bota engines have very simple rebuild kits. Comes with plunger and two Contacts. These parts are the main source of failure.

Snow blade installation oh cub 782

Rubber blade, assuming he's on blacktop or concrete. It's no help on stone in the early snows of the season. Round tube on blade edge and/or larger shoes with rinsed edges help the Stone Driveway scenario

    82 Series Lift Handles

I like the idea of finding an equivalent. I am curious about the Plastic Dip. I've seen it in stores. To be used one tool handles and such. Does really work well? Does it give a thick coating?
