Upgrade narrow frame front axles and rims.

Looking for suggestions on upgrading the front axles and rims on a 147. Something with grease zerks for the spindle and axle is a plus.

    Champion generators, any good?

Purchase one that produces clean electricity, less than 6% distortion. If you are looking to power any modern electronic equipment. Most of the cheap units have aluminum windings, not copper. Anyone own a Winco?

    Picked up a John Deer

X500 series has the k72; which is recommended for hilly terrain. Check out Tuff Torque (Japanese company) and there are stats on all the transmission models.

    Wheels up or down ?

My electric lift has a float control, I keep it in the float position when mowing. Does a much better job with less scalping, digging, etc. Unfortunately, the float lock will fall back into the fixed deck position and needs to be monitored occasionally while I’m mowing.

    Started the 147 restoration

Ah! The 147 - you're going to really enjoy it; it's a tank. I added Kirk's super steering kit, magnetic oil plug, weights and a few other items. It is amazing what 14 horse power will do.
