Good Morning- Another new cub owner type-question thingy here.. While I was installing a new relief-valve 'flapper' thing on my 1450 last night, I noticed the ragged remnants of a fan before the hydro unit. I crusied the site and see that there is supposed to be a hydro fan there. Is that...

I have to do the same thing with my Farmall A when I engage the PTO. You put in the clutch and slowly engage the PTO lever. You'll hear a light tap-tap-tap with the gear and then it slides right in without much fuss.

Also- that 1/4" lip that is left on mine looked normal until I cleaned all the crud off then looked at just how far away it was from the valve buttons Edit- wow, buy something? They still got that part in a bin somewheres? Thanks Digger.

Will do. Actually- my son "will do" haha. Hopefully I'll be able to push that little bugger out of the garage instead of smoking the place up next time!

Well thanks. And it ain't working. I saw those two valves sitting there and figured it had something to do with them. Should those relief valves be easily depressed by hand? If not should I liberally apply PB Blaster to free them up, or would that potentially contaminate the hydro unit...

Afternoon- I'm new to the board and to cub cadets (although I own a '46 Farmall A). I just picked up a nice 1450 model cub for my son to mow with. I have a dumb question- What is that lever attached to the right side of the trans cover do? I pulled off the trans cover and saw it's a long paddle...
