1641 oil in aircleaner

Spent morning getting the fuel shut off solenoid working so I can run the 1641. Now I got oil pumping up to the air cleaner via the hose ?

A lot of older engines will do that. May be a sign of worn piston rings and may improve when warmed up to operating temps.

Is the oil full of gas?

Breather may be malfunctioning, too.

Didnt do it this spring when i put it up for summer. I shut if off then started it back up and it quite so i drove it fir a minuite and it started oiling again.

Probably not as i couldnt keep it running with the selonoid not cooperating . I will go check the oil.

Was there oil in the air cleaner before you started it?
Could also be an oil seal leaking or a bad head gasket as it will suck air in and cause that problem you describe.

Oil looks good surprisingly sitting under a tarp for a year but no oil in air filter before starting it

We are talking about alot of oil here. Probably 1/4 of a quart in 10 min.
