A lot of older engines will do that. May be a sign of worn piston rings and may improve when warmed up to operating temps.

Didnt do it this spring when i put it up for summer. I shut if off then started it back up and it quite so i drove it fir a minuite and it started oiling again.
 
Was there oil in the air cleaner before you started it?
Could also be an oil seal leaking or a bad head gasket as it will suck air in and cause that problem you describe.
