Good luck, Jeff! Maybe it's a "sign of the times". I have to admit that I went the same route - and also with the fabbed deck. Maybe because we still have some "old IH" left in us?

Well 2 months and 24 engine hours later I've got what I call my XT 1.5 i added a brush guard, yellow spindle covers, rear fender flare/hand grabs, and painted the rims black

I like the black wheels too...

I miss the white hood though...... Cubs are white and yellow, not just yellow.....

Funny thing is, there seems to be no consistency of wheel color on the current offerings. There are white, black or yellow wheels.... and mixed on the same product lines.....
 
Dave is correct but is it is one bad donkey lawn mower
 
Have an xt2 I agree it's a lawn mower but a good one. I had to get it because I was mowing 3.5 kms of walking path through old fields as well as 2.5 hrs lawn. I figured old faithful (64 cub 100) was a bit old for it. My fear was breakdown with no way to retrieve but a loong push. Problem solved. Mind you now I've got a pioneer 500 no problem for retrieval
