What's the difference?

I've had a 149 for about 15 years, with only mule drive and mower deck. I presume mine would be called a lawn tractor. So what's the difference b/w lawn and garden tractor?

A lawn tractor is a mower only.
A lawn & garden tractor can have many uses. Snow duty, garden duty,, mount generators and ground engaging tools, and yes - mow the lawn...

You 149 DOES NOT fall in the "lawn mower" category, believe me!

The drive train on your 149 was (and is) capable of pulling ground engaging equipment without damage. So you could plow your garden with it, if properly equipped. Some were equipped to do both, some were equipped just to do lawns. It depended on what the customer wanted to do with the tractor.

Yup, 149 would definitely be a GT.
Mine is a 128 (- 2 horses), and does very well.
