Is it not turning over or turning over slowly, or just not starting?

I'd say check grounds and electrical connections. The cyclops series is notorious for rust and wiring issues.

I will go through what should be to clean all the grounds. I think you posted about a choke problem and a fuel pump issue with the 18 K mag 18 HP. If I knew what the fuel pump should have for pressure I would check it. I will take the Carb off in the AM and soake it and install a new kit. I should check the timming also. so I need to have this back to him this week. He wants his baby home, poor soul.I have given him my 1512 and well he can`t have it lol. Thanks Don T

If you have a fuel pressure gauge tester, connect it to the output of the fuel pump and crank the tractor over (pull the plug wires so it can't start) and it should immediately pump up to and hold about 2-2.5 psi. If the needle just bounces around, the diaphragm has a hole in it.

You can't change the timing on an M18.

Thanks for the place to start.. I will get said gauge in the AM and do the test. It starts great with the heat in here lol. This tractor is fussy to start cold. I don`t know if they all are like this one and that would help if I knew what to aim for. It ain`t my 149 lol.Tell me What a 18 K should start cold like and it will help a bunch

My 782 has an M18 and will start pretty easily in the winter (in garage, ~30 degrees F or so) as long as it's run frequently.

So are you telling me that the fuel bleeds out sitting and washes down the rings? This would cause a poor start. Thanks I will look at the fuel bowl level and set the bowl leaner. I don`t have problems with my K`s working or starting, I shut the fuel off and run the carb down. that has helped me.

No, I think it's more like the gas in the carb bowl evaporates and then the fuel pump has to re-fill the carb before the engine will start. It needs a lot of choke and a few seconds of cranking when it's been sitting awhile. My 682 with loader has this problem REALLY bad, and I imagine I'm going to have a hard time starting it when I get home for winter break. I will probably put an electric fuel pump on it.

My 782 will catch and run after about 1-2 revolutions of the engine if it has been run frequently. To avoid over-choking, I usually hit the starter and then pull the choke while it's cranking, and then put it to half choke when it fires, then all the way in after a second or two.

I stand under! Matt Gonitzke , I will have a look to see if that electric fuel pump is, will help. what fuel size should I get.Could the fuel bowl stand much pressure ? What about a fuel return line would that help it come alive quicker? I`am just trying to get what this tractor wants to start better than it does.Since the gas comes from under the seat a small tank ,res might help it get fuel quicker and a better start. I will find out what the electric pump puts out and then I can work this trough,.

You need a pretty small electric pump...2.5 psi or so, maximum. Any more and it may overcome the needle and seat.

Guys ,I need to know if the snow blower from an 1862 will fit my 1512 Diesel. Is the snow blower a 450 or a 451 . Thanks Don T

Thanks Paul- I was offered one today and just had to be sure it was what I wanted for my 1512. It will be nice to have two snow blowers and hopefully one will always be working.
