I went to look at the 782D thats up for sale near me. The oil was around an inch above the full mark on the dipstick I got to thinking of why this must be, if a seal goes bad on the fuel pump would diesel fuel drain into the engine? If not I will take some wrenches with me and crack open the oil drain and see what comes out hopefully it is not coolant. Just wondering if anyone has delt with a simular problem on there diesel tractor.

Mine was overfilled when I got it too. The fuel capacity isn't clearly marked on the engine...I think people can't seem to carry out basic unit conversions. I think it holds 94 fl. oz. of oil, which is 3.07 qt. I drained almost 4 quarts out of mine the first time I changed the oil. The fuel pump shouldn't be the problem, as the 782D used an electric fuel pump not mounted on the engine. The oil should not smell like diesel fuel.
