Steve - before you go making the BIG jump with the hydro-angle cylinder, mounting brackets and hydro lines (hoses?), do you already have the Twin Stick Hydro Tractor with the front hydraulic outlets? If not, well your project is going from $$ to $$$$$$.

How much are we talking here? I've got both a 1641 and a 2182 I was looking to add this to for my snow plowing duties. I snagged the hydraulic cylinder kits years ago from ebay, but never got around to installing them.
I REALLY want the power angle on these things, as I have to change plow angle so many times in my property.

What would make this so expensive? I KNOW the kits to simply add these are all no longer available, but none of the stuff in the kits looked that hard to make/procure. Sure, the hard lines may just need to be made with regular flex lines, but isn't the rest of the stuff like the hydraulic lever etc easy to find used?

Steve / Jason, You must have been reading my mind. I have an 1882 and have been thinking about adding a second hydraulic valve for front and maybe rear hydraulic ports. I’ve looked thru my manuals and parts book but cannot find any info on what is needed to add the second valve. I’m guessing just a small piece of tubing with o-rings, a specialized piece. Do either of you have any info or diagrams?

Well, Jason, Robert and Steve - last I knew Steve has a Model 1450 IH Cub Cadet Garden Tractor that he is working over and I "assumed" this was the tractor he would use the power angle blade on. I'm pretty certain he doesn't have the dual hydraulics set up (but you know what assuming does) which is why I believe it will be expensive to add. Assuming (here I go again) he doesn't have the dual set up then he needs the dual spooler valve, dual handle assembly, hard and soft lines and front ports on the frame. Once he has this then he needs all the hydraulic angle stuff for the blade.

Jason and Robert - you guys have CCC units (1641 Garden Tractor, and 1882 and 2182 Super Garden Tractors). I believe those units all came with the front ports. I don't know if the 1641 came with the dual spooler valve but pretty certain it was standard on the 1882 and 2182 Super Garden Tractors - so you guys are likely way ahead of Steve.

So, how much would Steve need to spend for everything - well my WAG would be close to $1000, if he can find someone willing to sell all the stuff.

Just a thought, couldn't you use the Pass-thru valve off a log splitter? Haven't studied the hydraulics on the cub, but you must be able to 'T' this valve in.

Harry, unfortunately ( for me ) my 1882 does not have the dual hydraulic setup. I did some further research and found that (I think) I could add a second hydraulic valve by installing a union adaptor fitting, part #771-3294, between the two valves. I would need to buy the second valve, the fitting and the hard and soft lines. Buying used parts I guessing $100-$150, but as you said about “assuming…”.

I have a parts 1782 that you could get the dual outlets, valves body handles, hoses from. I am located in Jackson, MI. Also the rod end on the angled CC cylinder is not very strong. I got tire of breaking mine and ended up threading the end of the cylinder and installing an actual equipment rod end on the cylinder. Then I remade the block that attaches to the mounting frame. I got new hoses made at the local fork lift repair shop.

Steve - before you jump or keep jumping into this you may want to check for differences between your 1450 "Garden Tractor" and a 1782 "Super Garden Tractor". The 54" blade used on a Super Garden Tractor is a whole lot different than the 54" on a Garden Tractor. As such, I suspect the angling cylinder, brackets and lines are alot different to.

Steve - I couldn't find any pics of the 54" Blade for a Super Garden which would probably help you. Just so you know there are alot of differences you could look under the attachments for the 1782 on the CCC parts list. When you look at the blade you'll see the mounting brackets, springs, etc are alot different. When you look up the hydro-angle assembly the diagram pics look exactly the same as those for your 1450 but they all have different part numbers, even the hose lines. I'm not saying they won't work. Maybe they could be "adjusted" somehow so they do work.

I still think the harder stuff to find would be the dual spooler assembly and lines for your 1450. They are older and rarer in my opinion than the Super Garden stuff which worked on several models.

HI Steve I have a 782d I found an nice old power angle blade complete with cylinder and hoses. When I brought it home I found that it would mount fine however the hoses were for a 1450 cub cadet and they were positioned on the left side of the tractor ( sitting in the seat) and would not reach my 782 outlets mounted on the right side of the tractor. Just needed to have one hose made for it. then all was fine. You may find the same thing in reverse using the set up from a 1782 Pictures would help a lot on where your lines on the front would go and your lever set up on your tractor you want to put it on.

You can have them for free if you can arrange their removal. I just don't have time to tear it apart. You can't have any of the power steering parts as I am planning on using them in another project.

I got lucky found the 1450 hydraulic double handle and pump and hoses. IH hydro fittings. The whole power angle package for plow. Pretty cool.
