Ordered a new belt from an e-bay store for the 9A that broke last weekend, 2/13.
Seller shipped on the 15th.
USPS tracking said it would arrive on the 19th, (sat)

Tracking place it at Decatur, IN on Wed, 2/16

Tracking showed at was in Cedar Rapids, IA on the 18th, 50 miles from me so had high hopes of being back in business Sat AM, noon at the latest.

No show, so guess it will be Monday! wrong!! Legal holiday!
OK, will probably show up on Tuesday then....NOTE: package came from Indiana, about 350 miles as the crow flies.

Got tracking notice about noon on Monday, package arrived in San Diego, CA at 11 AM, 2/21
As Onslow would have said.......
"Awe nice!!"

9PM last night, Monday, 2/21…got 2 more notices
One said it left the San Diego distribution center at 5:10 PM and the other said it left the same place at 5:59

Seems as though they can not only not read a map but read a clock and tell time as well!!

Day 8, today, and to think I used to make 2nd day truckload delivery to the east coast “back in the day”!!

During the past three years, I have experienced more of this tomfoolery, and lost parcels than I have ever had in my entire adult life. The postal service is really hitting bottom as of late. It's really sad.

Had that happen with a CC trans filter last spring, for about 3 months! I called the company I bought it from and when the guy looked at his computer screen all he could say was "Wow,that things really going for a ride!" He had me another to the house in 3 days.

When I have to get parts shipped from my home office, I call it playing “shipping table roulette”.

Ordered a small part, shipped on the Feb17th Bounced around Houston & North Houston 3 days. Then to Dallas, up to Omaha NE over to Des Moines IA, on the 21st. Now it is back at North Houston again as of this morning. 21 different entries in the tracking. Couple were the same and one min apart.
Seems like that is the norm for USPS delivery any more.

AS of last night...

Your item arrived at our DES MOINES IA NETWORK DISTRIBUTION CENTER destination facility on February 22, 2022 at 11:22 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination.

Wherever that me be, anyone's guess at this point, huh?

I’m in central WV. Things bypass me all the time. I suppose most of the time it’s shipping hub to shipping hub then filters on out. If I order from FL or Atlanta, usually ends up in OH before arriving here. But then why does things from the west end up in PA before here???

Had this happen in the last 12 months. Don't remember the item but I do remember it shipped from the State immediately to my east. It came way later then estimated and it too has seen much more of the country then I have.

Two more notices kust within the last 30 minutes saying I can expect delivery by 9PM this evening!
Kinda doubt it because the mail was delivered this morning about 11.30.

Sent a Registered letter from Richmond,VA
To Houston . It was cash Christma gift to my great nephew . The only way to insure cash was Registered mail . It took 19 days for delivery . It got hung up in the swamp ( Washington ) .

Mine is still hung up in Houston - maybe. Last on tracking was on the 21st. Don't think they have a clue where it is at. Was told by a postal employee that when a package is placed in a shipping container, the package tracking it tied to the container and it is the container that is tracked until the package is scanned again. If the package for some reason is not removed from the container is when it get tracked all over the country until that package is removed from the container and scanned - someplace.
