Anyone had any experience in replacing the rear main oil seal on a KT17 Series II engine? It seems the seal is an internal one, but I could be wrong. Any input would be appreciated.

I know it can be replace without going inside the motor but I think you have to remove the flywheel and such. I've never had to do it before so hopeful one of the other guys can help you.

I already have the flywheel and magneto off, but it does not look like it can be removed from outside the engine. I have replaced oil seals in car engines, but they didn't look like this one.

I got the oil seal out. It was much easier than it looked or I expected. All it took was the slight twist of a screwdriver.
