My 129 Tractor was sitting idling and it just quit. No spark. It will crank just fine but no spark. I have done a new coil resistor plug and points. ??????

Is it possible or common for the coil to fail on these tractors. Coil is new

It happens but i would not say its common. Id make sure points didnt come loose, just tan into that a couple months ago

Did you use a coil with an internal resistor?

Condenser...make sure it's tight to clamp. The clamp is what grounds it to the engine

I replaced the resistor. Can I use an internal resistor coil on my tractor.

An internal resistor coil is what it is supposed to have. LU800 or equivalent at your local auto parts store will work if you don't want to spring for the OEM coil.
