Recently, I purchased from Steiner Tractor Parts a new reproduction IHS2300 chrome hood ornament for my Cub Cadet 100 tractor. The original hood ornament was missing ever since I bought this used tractor in 1987. I am very pleased with the quality, finish, and fit of this new reproduction hood ornament. Instead of using the fasteners supplied by Steiner, the new hood ornament was attached to the two factory-made mounting holes at the front of the engine hood with the following fasteners purchased from Ace Hardware: stainless steel #10 split lock washers (2/hole); stainless steel #10 flat washers (1/hole); and #10-24-half inch long chrome button head socket cap screws (1/hole). This set up avoids interference between these fasteners and the U-shaped notch in the cast iron front frame, when the engine hood is pivoted open or closed.

Good to know that product information David. Thanks for sharing. I am quite happy with the rubber gear shift knob purchased from Cub Cadet Specialties. It fits my Cub Cadet 100 transmission gear shaft like a glove. and looks like the original, except the air vent hole on the original was more perfectly round. Not a big deal to me.

Good job. Where there is a will, there is a way!
