That's for the early ones - and nice too!
Should be from the Original, 70 and 100 up to the xx4 series. I believe the xx6 series did away with them.
Thanks, I've owned a 149, 1860, 1862, 1872 and a 2284 and realized this was not from any of them. I probably acquired it from dad's inventory. Curt

If you are patient, they can be found cheap used. To let you in on a little secret, the lawn tractors built in the mid to late 80s (1315, 1420, 1620, to name a few) all used the same hood ornament. I have picked up a few watching for people parting one of those tractors out. Most people don't seem to know they are the same hood ornament as the 82 series tractors, so they always seem to sell cheaper.

That 3D printed one that 1811Cub linked to is made of PLA, which gets soft at about 160°F; the hood on your tractor can easily exceed 200°F in operation. The original one is likely ABS, which is a better choice of material for the temperature range it will experience.

I designed my own and had it made of 302 Stainless steel. The Quietlines didn't come with a hood ornament but I needed to cover 2 holes that the previous owner drilled in the hood. Hood Ornament.JPG
