Paid no attention to old belt, have new one from Digger. Now, how to install? Am lost. In the 4th pic see the blue pen....it points to a long piece of steel that sits in front but not attached to pulley. What is its purpose?
Must I remove the pulley to get the belt on?
Thanks for any help. Jack

Just remove the PTO engaging lever on the side of the tractor and put the belt on, then replace the lever. 👍

There's a drawing on page 88 of the Service Manual that Charlie linked to, that shows how to install the mower drive belt.

Shame on me, I've taken down and rebuilt Ford flatheads and Chevy 409's with some help and with no parts left over but here I don't have to work hard ... I ask question and you answer. Now I know why some of you have multiple Cubs
