New cub owner here. Just like any new hobby, all the information can be a bit overwhelming sometimes. I think I have a nov 77 1450. One place I looked says it’s an 86 model. This handy wiring diagram for the quiet line is my tractor. It doesn’t list 1450 on the diagram. I haven’t looked at the motor mounts yet. Im trying to do a tune up and this has come to light. Thanks everyone.

Looks like 1450 to me
It's the top one, says 1450 right on it and shows the stator.
Disregard the 86, 1x9 series that is printed above that, they are the WF pre-QL series that us a the starter generator (S/G)

John, check the serial number. If the numbers ahead of the "U" are "2050065" it's a 1450. As an example here's the serial number tag on my 1450, see photo below. If they are different, here are the models prefix in the Quiet Line series:

0050 = 800
0053 = 1000
0056 = 1200
0059 = 1250
0065 = 1450
0067 = 1650

I just Googled "cub cadet 2050660" and parts tree, messiks, and other places all say it's a 1450. At least they are selling 1450 parts for that number.

Not sure why such a hard brain fart here. Thanks for the back up info. I’ve dealt with enough serial breaks to know better. Only being 40 #’s away from the break and the prints being different is a dead giveaway for parts confusion in the future. Thanks to everyone for the assistance

It is indeed a 1450
Just what is the issue here?
There were a few changes during that time period such as cast iron vs aluminum grill and wire harness routing in a grommet, THROUGH the firewall instead of under it along the frame, routing and size of the engine ground etc.
Nothing to worry about really.

I think I understand what you're confused about in the picture. You said you have the 1450 engine with the quietline wiring.
What you have is a cub cadet model 1450. The model number being 1450, the 14 means it came from the factory with a 14hp kohler, which yours has in it, and the 50 meant it is a hydrostatic drive. Quiet line is sorta slang for this body style tractor. You'll see other slang terms for other models, such as a cyclops, but your body style is a quietline. You'll see quite line abbreviated to ql frequently around here. So to sum it up, you have a cub cadet 1450, that is a quietline tractor.

The "0066" is indeed a 1450. There are still a few holes in the "Kind Code" listing. I suspect that there might be a factory installed option or multiple options that fall under the 0066 Kind Code. My 1450 has dual hydraulic controls with front hydraulic outlet ports. Mine also has a rare Cold Start Kit installed, probably a dealer installed option. Does your 1450 have any options installed? Yours is a later build than mine is and that Kind Code may not have been implemented at the time of my 1450's build. Hard to say. I should add a note here to thank former forum member Myron Bounds (RIP) who I believe was quite instrumental in researching the Kind Code and created a list of the various Kind Codes. I'm not certain who else may have been involved in that research. Charlie may have more insight into this as well.
