I just bought a 122 the other day and according to some info on the interweb I have what is possibly a 1965. It has the bracket for the hood latch spring and the 2 holes on the hood cross brace. I am open to any information on this. I have uploaded a few pictures of it.Thanks!

Would like to know what you guys think. I just bought a 122 the other week and it appears to be a 1965. It has the 2 holes on the hood cross brace and bracket under the battery tray. I will attach a few pictures to give you guys an idea. I've read online that there were a few built in '65. I own a 1967 Model 71 and non of the items are present for the hood spring. Any information is welcome.

Jason,
If I haven't said it already, welcome to the forum!
That must be an early 122 with the serial # on the tranny. Mine don't have the oops pedal either.
Shouldn't the foot plates be painted black?

look at the left side of the tranny, and you can see my serial# plate.

My goal is to restore this tractor in the future. But yeah they should be black. Typical spray bomb by po. This one has a creeper unit in it. The main reason why I bought it was because of the unique items on it not found on the later models of this generation. The grill still has the screen in it also which I rarely ever see.

Jason, WELCOME! Wow, that is an early 122, if I'm reading that number correctly, looks like September 1965.

I'm not certain which model in that series (71, 102, 122, 123) would have had the first serial number but they started with # 127161.

That bracket on the battery box shows up in several photos in the brochure, here's an example:

Are you referring to the mesh (window) screen behind the chrome grill insert? I have a grill insert with the mesh screen kicking around here somewhere. Here's an old photo of it when I first got it on a parts run back in February 2002, you can see the screen behind the grill. One of these days I should find a tractor to go with it...

My Model 71 no longer has the screen behind the grill and as far back as I can remember which is 1987 when we bought the 71 it never had the screen. This 122 is the first one I have owned to have it.
