I have a LTX 1050 (2010) that seems to be missing a something in the forward/reverse pedal. I just aquired this tractor and noticed that the pedal (right side pedal) flops back and forth. While removing the mower deck I found a 12 inch spring on top of it. According to the Series 1000 Service Manual that I found on line this spring attaches to the rear of the tractor near the lever that releases the tansmission, allowing it to be pushed. The other end of the spring attaches to the cam on the pedal shaft. However, I don't know where the cam is. I understand the concept but I fail to see how the spring can apply tension to the pedal in both directions (forward and reverse). Am I missing anything part-wise or understanding-wise? Does anyone understand the situation and have an answer to help me? Thanks.
