Hey all,
I have an 06 lt1045. Started it up for the first time in 3months and it has a knock in it. thought it was oil, that is ok, valve covers off, all free and smooth, hand turn all seems smooth. muffler off cant hear lol, the muffler is fine. may be as simple as a bolt backing off. does it at lo as well as high rpms but not a constant knock, just thought you guys may have run into a common problem on this model.
Thanks

if it has the courage single cylinder, remove the upper engine shroud and make sure the small bolts that hold the top of the engine to the sump are tight. we have had a major problem with the early courage engines doing this, usually ends up ruining the motor after a few cuttings like this.

ok i checked the bolts that go to the sump, all tight, changed the muffler it looked swollen, didnt help. Best I can tell it now must be valve noise but I cant find the specks for valve clearance, does anyone know the speck or where to aquire them?

Sump bolts were all tight. I went ahead and replaced the muffler, knowing it wasnt the problem yet praying it was, no luck lol. noise just cant be pinpointed. Cant be rod because after 5 mowings, it surley would have blown up. Im just stumped!
