I'm getting ready to tune up my 682. Has anyone found the need to replace the push rod for the points on a KT17? Part# 52-411-05 is around $25.00

I hope oil is not getting past. It's not a tight fit. I've seen them wear on single K series. I would think they would on the twins too.

Yeah, that part is crazy priced. Consider turning it around if the fit is loose. There used to be a "wiper" that fit over the push rod, simply a small rubber part that fit over the push rod. Ask a dealer to see if he can locate one.

Found out I can buy a KT17 tune up kit (Part# 52 757 02-S) that includes the points rod for 24.00.
